Hey guys, it's been a long while since I've done anything hobby wise and I've been wanting to start painting my Stegadon to get me going with my Lizard army once again. That being said, I was looking for the tutorial on GW's website for the Stegadon and realized it was gone. Does anyone knows how to find it or where to find it? Anyone has it saved on their hard disk by chance???

If not I guess I'll figure out the green by myself but I kinda liked what they did so I was hoping to have it instead of figuring things out on my own!

It's good to be back and I hope I'll be able to show you some progress in the next two weeks and also start being active over here once more.

It was probably removed for being outdated - they updated their entire paint range recently so all the painting guides they had use names and colours that don't exist anymore.

They've given the new ones names like temple guard blue etc to try and give a guide on colours, so maybe that's somewhere to start looking

Sadly the painting guide just seems to have completly disapeared... I know it's possible to use an internet time machine to find some stuff back but I have no clue how to use it :S and I don't know if it's possible to find what I'm looking for.

They took down that tutorial when they revamped the paint line. I used the same thing to do my stegadon and cold ones. Unfortunately I don't have it written down, but here's what I remember

Skin: base coat with a 1/1 mix of Orkhide Shade and Knarloc Green, then wash with Orkhide Shade, layer with Knarloc Green, highlight with a 1/1 mix of Knarloc & Gretchin Green, then Desert Yellow and finally Bleached Bone.

As for the scales, my memory is fuzzier. I think they start with Orkhide Shade and then get a black wash. Then you build highlights by mixing Hawk Turquoise into the Orkhide.

And in the interest of self promotion, here's link to my stegadon:

Thanks for the info Alex, I went with something similar to what you said and I'm hoping the results will be good. I've done the 1st layer on the scales and I'm almost done with the 1st layer on the skin as well. Such a nice model to paint so far!!!!!
