    Hi Guys,

Yesterday i discussed the combo "piranha blade & Stegadon Helmet" with a friend of mine.
We couldn't agree about the way this worked out....

    My thoughts:
wearer has d3 impact hits (helmet) with the piranha blade. This wil be calculated as: d3 (impact hits) * d3 (thanks to piranha blade)= anywhere between 1 (1*1) to 9 (3*3). (after rolling to wound etc.)
So when calculating impact hits it could result in 1 to 9 casualties.

    My friends thoughts:
wearer has d3 impact hits (helmet) with the piranha blade. This wil be calculated as: first you roll for the impact hits: d3.
These hits wil roll to hit and each wound will be multiplied with d3.

The difference between us was that my friend claimed that exces wounds will be lost. --> When you charge a unit with only single wound "characters" (p.e. SW) the piranha blade does nothing, beacause the extra wounds will be lost on that hit. So this combo will only work on multi-wound units (ogres or something...)

Can someone plezzzz clear this for me. thanks!

your friend is correct you can only do multiple wounds on a multiwound model.

question to anyone else is this how we play it with the steg helm piranha blade model that the impact hits benefit from the swords multi wounds

Rules As Written at the moment is that with the Piranha Blade "the bearer gains the Multiple Wounds (D3)", as opposed to "the blade has the Multiple Wounds (D3) special rule". The same is true for the impact hits from the Helm.

So, yes, unless it's FAQ'd, an oldblood with both items would have D3 impact hits that cause D3 wounds.

As for the OP, forlustria is right, the D3 wounds would only affect Multiwound models, or models in a challenge.

It's gonna be a great character- and monstrous cavalry killer! I really like this combo!
