Hello everyone, this is my first time posting on the forum and I had been looking at playing something other then my hordes of Dark Elves. I came into a rather large lot of Seraphon but have no clue where to start. If a starter list or two could be created from the following i would be very grateful. Hi, and welcome! Nothing to add to what @Bowser said. That's a lot of models and I think you have lots of nice options there.
That is awesome, I greatly appreciate it! I have both armies set up and ready to go for Thursday for my first two games with them! One is going to be against either Beastmen or Goblins and the other will likely be against Stormcast, looking forward to them. I appreciate both of your responses. It will be my first time ever running a battalion, as I have always built my Dark Elf Lists without them. While my first few games will be pure Seraphon, I likely will mix and match some once I get an idea how I want to play them.
Welcome to the forum, @BloodyFiesta!! These fellas look to have you lined out. Let us know how the battles go!
Battle vs Goblins Army Lists: Opponent 2x Spear Chuckahs 1x Shaman type Guy 1x Chief Type Guy 20 x Grots w/bows 40 x Grots w/spears 40 x Grots w/spears 1 x Giant My Army: (Thanks Bowsah) Shadowstrike Battalion 20x Skinks w/bolt 10x Skins w/bolt 3x Salamander 3x Skink Handlers 3x Rippers 1x Skink Starpriest 5x Chameleon Skins Objective is Places of power, and the game was pretty much decided in the very first turn. I managed to roll extremely well on the scout move with getting 12 on Salamanders and bringing them in range to unload on the giant first turn (11 Wounds from shooting, 3 wounds from burning effect killing the Giant Outright) Skinks screening the priest and hero took two out of three objectives first turn, with the ripperdactyls dropping down 3 inches behind his spear chukahs who unfortunately for him have a bonus for being within 2 inches of each other, so the single charge connected and split the attacks on the crew making it useless. Shots from the skinks/priest took out a few grots but nothing to put a dent into the 40 unit blocks. During his 1st turn he attempted to take out the rippers with his bow grots but only managed to produce 2 total wounds after saves leaving a full unit. His grots rolled well on destruction move and charged my skinks attempting to punch through and take my heroes off objectives. Goblin shaman ate a mushroom and paralyzed himself. Turn 2 revealed my chameleon skinks and killed his shaman, with the ripperdactyls successfully charging his chief. With both heroes dead and no way to score points it was a quick concede. Second opponent never showed up.
It did run well, surprisingly the two players who usually run Seraphon had never ran Rippers or even Terradons so it was kind of eye opening. Against a squishy low save army that is all about glass cannon at times, those things are deadly.
maybe i`m wrong but salamanders aren`t part of the shadowstrike starhost, so they can`t make an scout move.
Well done ! Shadowstrike formation indeed cannot include salamanders unfortunately ! It can only be for Skink Priest Starpriest of batallion and the 2 units of skinks / Chameleon Skinks in any combination depending on the shadowstrike formation you chose to play !
Welcome to a fun and helpful forum! i must ask, I am interested in using darkelves as my secound army, are they fun? competetive?
Assassins are fun, and the blood wrack Medusa and shrine can be quite a bit of fun/competition. The scourge privateers can work amazingly well witb something like a carnosaurs blood roar.
