So I have had a few 1000 point battles running a slann with an engine of the gods. It seems to be effective and there is enough points left over to bring some saurus, troglodon, and even some skinks. I recently converted a saurus oldblood into a astrolith bearer, and I am unsure about my list now. If I add him, I will lose some battle line, and be left with a skeleton crew to defend my slann. Sure my summoning will be off the charts, but my opponent plays beastmen and they cross the board very fast (ghorgan and minos in my face turn 1 or 2) Just wondering what everyone here does for their lists, and with him being 160 points does anyone advise taking him over an engine. Is having all 3 too much? Let me know your thoughts
Summoning? Sounds to me like you’re talking about AoS, sir! @Crowsfoot old pal could you please move this into the correct sub forum when you’ve got a minute?
Hard to tell. As you said yourself: there are some armies that can build lists which will be in your face in turn 1. Summoning lists have a hard time against them. I have played summoning heavy 1000 point lists, but I focus on the Slann and play without the EotG, to have a few more bodies on the table.
I’ve run a slann with an eotg, and had decent results. I just had to make sure I had enough battle line to slow the pace. I also hear you can take an extra spell for the slann? Might be a good option too
