Im planning to play a shadowstrike list looking like this, http://bit.ly/2lw0RHJ What do you guys think? Should I maybe remove the razordon and engine for a bastilodon instead?
I don't think the bastiladon is particularly effective in small games. I wouldn't bother with a skink chief, particularly with such small numbers of skinks and the shadowstrike. I'd replace the engine with a stegadon, giving your skinks better movement, and put in some skink handlers.
Just an idea that crossed my mind.. the tournament allows for 1020 p. Is it a good idea to take away the basti and put in a slann instead, to summon back my kamikaze ripper/chameleons and to put in some extra chameleons? The list would then look like this. Leaders Slann Starmaster (260) Skink Starpriest (100) Battleline 10 x Skinks (80) - Meteoric Javelins & Star Bucklers 10 x Skinks (80) - Meteoric Javelins & Star Bucklers Units 5 x Chameleon Skinks (120) 5 x Chameleon Skinks (120) 3 x Ripperdactyl Riders (140) Battalions Shadowstrike Starhost (120) Total: 1020
Page 108 of the general's handbook, under reinforcement points. Sometimes a spell or ability, will allow youbto add units to your army, or replace units that have been destroyed. In a pitched battle, you must set aside some of your points in order to use these units. The points you set aside are called reinforcement points, and need to be recorded on your army roster.
Okok thanks.. but what about "spells or abilities that allow you to add models to existing units dont cost you any reinforcement points. However in a Pitched battle, spells for abilities cannot increase the number of models in a unit to more than it had at the start of the battle"
Spells or abilities that allow you to add models to existing units don't cost points but can't increase it to more than what it started with. So works out for Death armies, but the slann isn't worthwhile in this case.
