As an SA community we need to stop playing with the options that have been force fed to us. Build lists that do not include skrox, chameleons, weapon beasts, and carnosaurs. Include caiman ancients, skink brave only units, warriors, temple guard, etc, only by actually using these lists in play will people start to understand the situation we have been put into.

If we all max out chameleons, weapon beasts, skink high priest with engine, and little carnosaurs then of course we will seem externally balanced. Those are our strongest options and when compared to other armies normal options they play well and we will get close games. The issue is that 60% of our book needs strong changes to also remain externally balanced, if we use those units and every rightly sees us lose horribly they will start to think, hmmm I think SA needs some buffs.

Sounds like a good idea. I will get working on a list ASAP.

Nothing that the community sees as "good" will b e included. Expect an Alpha and an Ancient Caiman!

    And Saurus Spears!

what is the most survivable warlord on alpha/baby carnosaur build in the 1.0 rules ?
the army book says that the saurian veteran and warlord are not allowed to purchase mundane heavy armour, can they still purchase magical heavy armour?

There are a couple of pretty survivable baby Carnosaur builds:

Glittering Armour, Talisman of Supreme Shielding, Lucky Charm, Shield: 2+ 4++ with Distracting (-1 to get hit in CC) and a single reroll of AS.

Armour of Destiny, Dusk Stone, Shield: 2+ rerollable, 4++

Most of these builds have some space for a +1S Sword or something.

    Try them out!

Talisman of Supreme Shielding and Lucky Charm are both Talismans, so you'd have to leave the reroll at home ;)

Ah durp. Wasn't entirely awake at that time :p You are right about that one.

Could go with a 5 point Potion of Swiftness. Hit first for once :p
