As the Temple-City of Chupayotl sunk into the sea, the Lizardmen who called it home were scattered to other temple cities. Chupayotl was thought lost to the Lizardmen, and rumours of an aquatic race taking up residence emerged. The rumours were true; however, the city was not in fact lost.

The old ones had foreseen this event, and ordered the city build on an immense and powerful foundation plate. This allowed the city to slip into the waves, mostly intact. Upon settling at the sea floor, the spawning pools begun to churn. The great spawnings of Tzunki took place, and thousands of web-clawed Lizardmen emerged, breathing through powerful gills.

Strange dormant obelisks once lined the western entryway to the City, their purpose long since forgotten. These structures now burst into life, the last remaining link between Chupayotl and the land of Lustria. The obelisks pulsed, drawing forth the fauna that the lizardmen utilised in life and war, and ushered them towards the waves. Cold Ones, Carnosaurs and other beasts mutated as they marched, changing into more aquatic forms, and dived into the World Pond in great number.

Chupayotl was born again, but its inhabitants lay hidden for many eons, awaiting the awakening of their great Slann. They had sealed themselves in a great star chamber, and endured millennia of controlled exposure to chaos. The power of Change was necessary to facilitate an aquatic mutation of their extremely complex genes, enabling them to take their place amongst their followers once more.

The culture of the Lizardmen of Chupayotl changed in this time. Adaptations had to be made to reflect the new resources, fauna, methods of transport and isolation. The artistic style began to reflect the flow of the ocean. Worship shifted from that of the cosmos to that of the tides. Arms and armour changed to match the new fighting conditions and to supplement scales that remained softer without exposer to Lustria’s harsh environment.

While in their Chaos induced trance, and aided by the giant foundation-plate of Chupayotl, the Slaan protected the City and its inhabitants from the cataclysm that destroyed the old world, transporting them safely to the mortal realms. It is here that the lizardmen of Chupayotl emerge, ready to reassert themselves as one of the last bastions of the Old One’s will.

Really great stuff, your casting is coming out great! I have cast GW stuff before but have always had trouble with the tiny spindly bits, glad to see your efforts are meeting with success so far!
