I agree! I'd love a lizardmen summer project to work on and I had great fun with the previous contest.
With a new theme aswell! Maybe a saurus/krox theme, monster/dino theme or a Lords & heroes theme. Anything really! ... Bump
My favourite painting contest scheme is like the one they had over at Chaos-Dwarfs.com for a while. Basically the first person picks a theme (Standard Bearer, Musician, Saurus, Skink Skirmisher, Kroxigor, Scar-Vet, etc). The contest lasts for a month, hopefully with a half dozen entrants. The winner, by popular vote, picks the next theme and the contest keeps rolling. Nice and simple, just needs someone to wrangle the votes, etc once a month. Doesn't even need to be the same person.
Sorry I was gone for so long! Another painting contest was in the works before I went on hiatus. We'll pick up where we left off and try to kick it off shortly ^^ That's also a very cool way of doing it. Small monthly comps could be fun. I think we might incorporate prizes into this one.
Mini comps sound really great but some sort of info in advance would be good though. Most things that i'd need or want to paint is more or less order only. So i'd be nice to have a week or two extra so i can get my lovely finecast delivered and prepped. Maybe make a preliminary comp theme list or something? It would be a shame to lose two out of four weeks in a painting competition waiting for an order to arrive.
Or make a it a bi-monthly contest. That leaves two weeks for voting and picking a new model after the victor is chosen afterwards, and then 6 weeks for acquiring and painting models.
