For those who don't know, Azyr Comp is one of the systems that try to "balance" AoS, giving a point value to each unit, so armies can be fielded with an equal number of points. The most used Azyr's version, uses a limit for heroes (ad monsters / warmachines) Azyr suggests the following kind of battles: 10 pts (2 hero points max) 20 pts (5 hero points) 30 pts (8 hero points) 40 pts (12 hero points) 50 pts (20 hero points) AFAIK, the most used formats, are 20-30-40 pts. That said, how can we field the Eteral Starhost with Azyr comp? a unit of 10 guards costs 6 points an eternity warden costs 3 points the formation itself costs 2 points. Basically, to field the Eternal Starhost, in its most basic form, you need 23 points (3 guards' units: 6+6+6, warden: 3; formation's cost: 2), hence, you cannot use it with 20 points format. a Slann Starmaster costs 5 points; Lord Kroak is 7 points. So: Azyr - 30 points Formation: 3 guards' units, 10 guards each + Warden (23 pts) Lord Kroak (7 pts) if you're using limited hero points: Formation (23 pts) Slann (5 pts) 1 unit of 5 chamaleon skinks (2 points) Azyr - 40 points Formation: 3 guards' units, 10 guards each + Warden (23 pts) 1 Astrolith Bearer (2 pts) Lord Kroak (7) 1 Bastiladon (6 pts) 1 unit of 5 chamaleon skinks (2 points) Azyr - 50 points Formation: 2 guards' units, 10 guards each + 1 Unit, 15 guards + Warden (26 pts) 1 Astrolith Bearer (2 pts) 1 Starseer (3 pts) Lord Kroak (7) 1 Bastiladon (6 pts) 1 unit of 5 chamaleon skinks (2 points) 2 salamanders (4 points, they comes with free handlers)
It's definitely tough to work around some of these points systems, but you're always up that kind of challenge!
You can field something similar, even at 20 points, and even with hero points' limit. Azyr - 20 pts "Wanna be Eternal Starhost" 15 saurus Guards (9 pts) Slann (5) Bastiladon (6) A basti and a Slann, at only 20 points, are huge units. In the first turn you summon heroes: the warden, a Starseer and a priest for the rite. Basically, you only lose the formation's bonus of d3 wounds, but you’ll have a nice group of 15 guards with save at 2 + (after mystic shield), possibly re-rollable (which will be enjoyed also by the bastiladon). You should only fear mortal wounds, but the Slann will take care of spells, and the basti will take care of units that inflicts those in combat.
