So my friend doesn’t know this yet but I’m gonna give him a kick up the arse in painting his Skaven army. Spray the base colour, wash and highlight. Done. Hate grey plastic on the battlefield (I’m guilty too :p )But it looks like you can’t buy brown spray from games workshop anymore.

What brand do you guys use if you want to prime something brown?

    Same here.
I haven't actually used any of the brown ones myself, but I have used black, white, bone, green, and blue, and all of them were working well.

He could use Zandri Dust. If he is really going heavy on the wash then he won't even have to highlight. The lighter edges of the Zandri dust will act like a highlight through the Agrax/Sepia. They won't look great, but it would get the job done.

    True,

I just thought of another way @Karnus

Prime grey then drybrush white, then shade with Scale 75 Inktensity Chestnut or Wood, they will look great as the highlight will really show, but the shade does dry glossy.
