The elven character models are some of the few I think GW got perfect

I really like 'em too. They are one of the reasons HE were the second army that I started collecting.

I admittedly, lost his sword arm a looooong time ago. I originally bought him to sit atop a column as a statue for a terrain piece, but that broke long ago and that's also when his arm went missing. The sword arm he's using there is actually from the VC Zombie Dragon/Terrorgheist kit. It was just from the elbow-down, so it still has the armor portion of the upper arm.

Thanks, guys! This certainly makes me feel much better about it! If I ever have to replace the arm, I'm pretty sure that I know which bit I'll be looking for again!

We should have a thread brainstorming good conversions

Haha, yeah, I bet that'd get rather cluttered quickly! But still a good idea though.

    Simple, effective, elegant.

That's what I'm going for. As you can see, there's not a tremendous amount of space on either side of the table top. That's one reason I'm keeping away from adding some of those fold-out "desk trays" that you see on some game table internet searches. The board that I had bought and set on top of another table (not quite 4x6), was starting to sag slightly at the edges since they were hanging off the table beneath. Now, with the added bracing, and edges, it'll hold it's shape, I can change out mats if needed (even make some 3D effect tops - future projects), and dice and models aren't in danger of rolling off or being knocked off. Also, now that my quads are almost 3 years old, this'll help keep wandering hands back from my models.

I'm not quite finished as you can see (I still need to trim the corners a bit more - it was getting late last night when I reached this point) but I should be able to cut them and snug them up for a tight fit real soon. I hope you like! Let me know if you have any good ideas or comments!

Lol, that's mostly my wife's fabric stuff. Her hobby is sewing.

    Looking solid. :)
Although I admit I wouldn't bet on the 3 year olds not being able to do something to it or the models. They grow so fast....

Lol, you bet! But anything helps. And since they'll be big enough, so soon, to climb up in a chair and lean on the table top, I want it to be solid and heavy enough not to slid off on top of them.

I've been considering making a couple of fold-down legs that can add more support and bracing if the top does somehow manage to slide off the table beneath. Maybe I'm over thinking it. At any rate, it doesn't have to be done immediately.

Lol, her birthday was the 16th of this month, and I got her a new, top-o-d-line sewing machine. She was over the moon happy! I was like...."Okay." Felt kinda like I was telling her, "Thanks for raising our quadruplets. Now, make them clothes too!"

Three years now?! Time flies! Tomorrow they'll be going to school! ;)

I suggest getting some minis for the minis and start teaching them the art of hobby... mine started at the same age and now three years later she can already throw a decent basecoat on a mini...:D

Careful now. I would suggest to be given over to the mother for sewing and two to him for miniatures. That way balance is achieved and the IRE of the wife is not raised.

I think my wife would WELCOME a long respite from keeping the kids! Lol!

And don't worry. I have PLENTY of practice orcs waiting in the wings!

In no time, I'm sure I'll be another decade older and me and my kids will be having round-robin, in-house tournaments! :D
