Hello to all I am newcomer to Lustria Some of you might recognize me from Cool Mini or Not and other painting sites. I started playing WFB about 2 months ago, and I decided to start painting some of the Lizardman figures I had and create and army for myself. I will post some images of things I have done so far. BTW- the army has been very successful thus far, with a 9-1-1 tally This piece is usually the general of my 2500+ point battles. Loq-Gar the Flesh tearer. The carnosaur figure works very well with the old style dragon wings. This character was created to kill Karl Franz, who I run up against on a regular basis. I see that my pictures are being shrunk, so here is a larger view: I will be posting some other things as soon as possible!
Holy crap, that's amazing! Awesome job, thanks for posting, do you have any other pics you could show us?
Thanks for all the kind words! I am still trying to figure out what size I need to make the piictures so that they are not too small. Here's a bit of a preview of what I want to post next:
Those are just amazing! I love the winged Carnasaur, and the painting of the fiery glow is insanely impressive, I can only imagine the hours it would have taken...
What an awesome conversion and paint job! That Carnosaur model just screams "FLEE IN TERROR WARM BLOODS!"
Wow, those Cold Ones are also amazing! What colors did you use? I also am in love with that little snake ruin in the middle.
Wow, you got some awesome figures and some of really good paintjobs! Could you share some tricks on the paint-side? What do you consider most important when choosing colors, and wich paintingtecnics do you use?
WOW... How did you get make everything so smooth. All of the colour (canadian spelling) transitions so flawless. you must have spent eons blending!! Good job
awesome job ...cant beleive how well thats done but i may ask have you something to do with eavy metal team????
Are you the same guy that was at uh... one of last years Golden Demon things? I saw similiar basework from some of the pictures from qualifiers/winners/honorable mentions. Excellent job!
Yes, my wife and I have been at the last two Golden Demons in Chicago, which is where we are from To make our bases, we use a variety of cork types as the bottom layer. The top layer is a thin sheet of sculpey that has been baked. Once the sculpey has been baked, it can be broken into random shapes, and designs can be carved on the surface. My whole army is based in this way. Some of the bases have vines and leaves added with green stuff for added effect. You can go to our website at http://www.windycityminiatures.com to see more styles of basing. I also have a gallery at http://www.coolminiornot.com under the name wappellious, where you can see more images. Hope that is helpful!
Yeah it is a very cool model, as are the cold ones. That OSL looks awesome. I haven't got too far attempting it with uni getting crazy, and it didn't turn out as well as I was hoping on my first try. Nah Wappelious is too good for the 'Eavy metal team. Or maybe they just don't showcase their talents most of the time, independant professional painters tend to end up with better looking stuff than EM. I think they are limited in the amount of conversion and freehand they are allowed to use because they need to reflect the model more than the painting.
