Can I ask what your rational is for running 40x Skinks without shields and not using Bolas on the Terradons?

Thats just the way my skinks are modelled, they where not able to have both the blowpipe and shield when I made them.

Bolas are probably better, but would it not be though to get all 12 of them in range?

12 Terradons with javelins will average on 8 wounds and 12 with bolas on 10,5 wounds before saves. The longer range of the javelins is worth a couple of wounds I think and bolas looks like they will break very easily.

But would you not get more damage from the Bola drop and then swooping dive attacks?

Yes if you can place all twelve Terradons within 5” of the enemy, I just not sure on how often you will be able to do that

Fair point. I could see that being difficult on a unit of less than 30 models.

Before reading the list, i was thinking "oh, another try with double rippers that is not going to work".

Instead, we have 6 rippers and 12 (!) terradons.
At least this idea is interesting... you can descend with everything since turn 1, the rippers will do their usual works, while the terradons are going to drop (on average) 6d3 mortal wounds, plus the javelins and the melee on an already weakened unit.

Not bad, but the problem is what you could face at 2000 pts: you use flyers and skinks (which are probably going to die in droves when your opponent recovers from your Alpha strike), and at that point you have only the carnosaur.
It could work, depending on the battleplan and the kind of objectives you must take.

@Killer Angel makes great points. The lack of any Slann means you're banking on massive Alpha Strike damage, which while Shadowstrike can be really good, it's not top tier. Many armies will recover and likely obliterate the flyer units.

    I kinda like this list.
Yes, it is a one trick pony. If you don't win in turn one you are probably dead.
Also: Two bataillons is a lot of tax, even in 2K.

Another problem could be placement. I have played lists with six Terradons and on a table with a good amount of terrain placing them might be hard already. 12 is a LOT (that's the reason I agree with the javelins btw, you probably won't get into range with all the bolas anyway).

But yeah, if it works in turn one you can do quite some damage.

it also matters who you face.
against FEC, for example, it would be a suicide, as you need to erase the units (and 12 terradons are not going to blast 9 flayers), and the same would be against LoN ("you killed my 40 skeletons... well, here they are again")

Against the undead you would have to use the akpha strike against the heroes, it could work. When you can kill a Mortarch or a Ghoul King on Terrorgheist in the first turn that's worth something.

    not so easy to do.

a list a friend of mine played at 1750 was along these lines:
    abhorrant
    abhorrant
    infernal courtier
    abhorrant on terrorgh
    9 flayers
    10 ghouls
    10 ghouls
    10 ghouls
    (royal family)

you can wipe (MAYBE, it also depends on the placement of those screening ghouls) the terrorgheist or the flayers, not both. And at that point there's not so much you can do

In the end it boils down to them being stronger. If the modern armies choose a good list and/or have a good player we are screwed.
