I have to say as awesome as the galactic pattern is its a shame to step away from the maelstrom pattern...you must buy more to have a mix of both themes
Oh wow! I am blown away by the new pattern. Gobsmacked at how good that looks. Brilliant idea. That looks incredible.
Thanks guys for our comments Dont worry I will have 2 Tiqtaqto more, one of them will have maelstorm for you
Just reading up on tiqtaqto in my new Lizardmen book think its the prior one to the newest and it says there are floating islands - such possibilities - I'm thinking about making a Tiqtakto proxy soon but all is not as it seems . reading up on his lore so I can convert this skink rider into a more hero like skink.
Yeah, I like the miniature of Tiqtaqto, thats why I want to have three of them, as a skink captains on ripperdactyl/terradonin 9th age I think i will get another two next week (maybe in two weeks) First one will have galaxy pattern, second some kind maelstorm (dunno the colors yet), thir one will have.. Hmm.. Any advices?
I don't have any original Tiqtaqto's I was bidding on one before but lost the auction - would you mind showing me a picture of the original rider - understand he has a special mask and a special weapon carved from the jaw of an ancient dinosaur.
Thank you I'm having doubts about a proxy now due to the exactness of a hero lore - Might just make my own character that can be used as a hero - but the mask and blade help show what extra detail elevates a skink - or was it swup elevating him - or the giant hand of the old ones
Awesome worth it for sure - For painting stars I'm not sure how effective it is on small figures but on a ceramic elephant my partner and I painted we used toothbrushes to flick spots on so you get a more random effect - but free hand might be the best solution for your style as it comes out very well what you've achieved. I'm just throwing the technique out there because I like it - my side of t he elephant is really sparse but when you look you realise how many dots there are and its more distant spacelike - my partners side is full on cosmic chaos but still a great effect. While writing this I decided to take pictures to show you - yours has much more cosmic appeal to it but for sporadic star placing I think this technique might be interesting to try on some Warhammer: If anyone's interested these elephants were sold as painting kits in Uxbridge as a promotion to help raise money for helping elephants - there were some painted by celebrities that got auctioned off. People like Ricky Gervais etc. And the towns had big elephants in the shopping centre as art installations. this was about 2 years ago or more
I have never thought about using toothbrush, but that might be briliant idea! However not sure if it will work on small miniatures, but I plan to make some kind of big movement tray for my army, and on top of Ziggurat (or whatever it name is) i will place some kinda of sky monument, and definietly I will use toothbrush for that! Did you use toothbrush to splash the paint on miniature or more like you stippled the paint with it?
Skip to around 5:30 to see the technique, you could also use a stiff paint brush to achieve the same effect.
What you do is you dab it with paint then pull back the hairs/strings this video shows it perfectly when she gets the toothbrush out
didn't think you could make it look better than it already was. Then you made it look even better than it already was. Beautiful work
