AoS Escalation League troubles

    Next week my local shop is starting a escalation league at 500 pts, will eventually get to 2000.
    I have 2 lists I could run for the 500 pts round and I can't decide, both have perks and flaws
    Any advice or which list you would run?
    1st
    Slann Starmaster, general, stellar tempest, great rememberer, gryph feather
    Skink Star Priest
    2x5 Saurus Knights
    2nd
    Old-Blood on Carnosaur, general, mighty war leader, gryph feather

    That's the one I was leaning towards, while I can't do your favourite tactic of summoning heaps of Skinks, only have 20. And 1 Razor

    Not necessarily, if nobody is expecting a carnosaur it can achieve some hilarious results, preferably with a doppelgänger cloak or sword of judgment

    judgment doesn't work at low points most armies cant field monsters and only one hero so it's a wasted artifact half the time. and this is a campain your only going to catch people off guard once and then after that the carnosaur will just die to bee stings

    makes sense, as the last time I did the carnosaur surprise tactic was in 2018 and there were no stupidly broken factions. In that case the Slann seems to be more optimal

    SLANN is straight oppressive at 500 points. if realm spells from malign sorcery are in effect he has three sources of mortals you can you.
    take great rememberer, transport him to range of a hero (remember most armies only get one) execute the absolute hell out of that thing with realm spells. then teleport back. throw shield on whatever unit of battleline you chose if you only used two spells. then turn two start the skink spam. you almost cant lose.

    What spells? I was gonna use Stellar Tempest alot agaisnt hordes, or just spam CP

    Stellar tempest is a pretty good spell, if your up against a hero try mystical unforging

    The realm specific spells. Otherwise you at best only have two and one of them is arcane bolt
