bought me friday my first stegadon. put it together and started painting in the weekend. at the moment the stegadon itself is almost ready ( except for the horns and spikes) and im ready to start on the detailed work of the howdah. this is going to be my ancient ridden bij a chief becouse its stil a wip i havent taken really effort for making a good pic ( it is taken with my phone) i wanted to see how you guys like my colour sheme. liche purple and black scales withwhite speckles.

I think the howdah is a touch bright, but you are probably planning on making it darker with inks etc. anyway aren't you? Would be cool to see clearer pics.

I was ind taking a risk, but also knew that if i worked it out good, it would look very cool and unique. my last lizzies ( sold them, and restarting again) where purple with blakc scales to. but much more flatter cause of the my painting skills back then and not using inks and washes. yeah ind, this gold is just the " base coat" as i like to call it. the stegadon was very purple/pinkish with its base coat( more likely to be some sort of slaneesh monster from hell) , but a layer or 2 washes with a highlight/drybrush made it better. im very slowly advancing on the howdah becouse of the lack of a detail brush and freetime. but ind im going to use a ogryn brown and black wash on the howdah to. with most likely a very light greyish drybrush to make it look more old.

Re: First stegadon of the stegadon rampage list ( wip) heres an update. still need some little finishing touches and the skinks need to be done. so for the detailed/artifact parts on the gold i used silver, ice bleu and marine bleu. i think those colours fit very well with the overall purple sheme. and on the side you se the second stegadon waiting to get his colours to

Re: First stegadon of the stegadon rampage list ( wip)*updated* thank you @ dead metal, yeah forgot to tell about the horns, they ind still need some more paint. and i think the goldcolour is so bright becouse of my painting lamp. but in 2 weeks i will be going to my parents and there i have a better camera and hopefully i can make some better pics then. by that time i hope to have finished 2 this and the second stegadon and started on some skinks orso. yeah im quite happy to for how the purple worked out and i think a whole army off these purple guys would look awesome.. im not a real fast painter but this curiousity does motivate me to do atleast every night a little bit. ( even if it means just one wash)
