High all. despite having only just come back from a 4 year warhammer break, im going big and am going to enter a diorama in Golden Demon Australia.(Im and Aussie) It will be rectangular with a river/swamp at one end and wooded area at the other end. there will be skinks rising out of the riverswamp and attacking some ? (explorer looking characters) who are running away possibly one falling. Also a possible idea is also having the skink priest with scythe standing at the edge of the water over a body greenstuffed to make it look the the priest is holding his heart.
Ill make sure to post pics along the way. Has anyone got any advice on making swampy/river areas and plants. ive already got a few good ideas but any advice is helpful

those skinks are indeed fantastic, but i have some constructive criticism the blue color on the spearsheads do really complement the green red and yellow of the rest of the model, BUT that is not golden daemon quality on the highlights. the colors are perfect, but they frankly look a bit sloppy compared to the rest. if you had done those spearheads perfectly (and i can see from a mile off that you have the skills) i think you would have snitched that 2nd or even 1st place. the lesson to take with you to next competition would be to make the weapons have a higher "wow" factor i wish you best luck, and i think you will do even better if you try again next year. lastly, congrats on the third place. its is no small feat in itself. keep being awesome /T
Very cool models, but my guess is the lack of a movement tray (even for skirmishers) cost them the top prize. They certainly look better than the Squigs and Bowmen.
Oh my god. "Welcome To The Jungle"was amazing. So were the skinks. However, I have a bone to pick. Skink Brave Itzy: Aus isn't a Death world! We're probably cooler than- Oh wait, just let me kill and eat this kangaroo. Yeah, I can take a joke. But if you're American, I can just say that at least we're not the ones with hordes of murderers wearing masks

The concept of explorers in lustria being tracked by skinks would make for a great diorama in my opinion, hmm. You never read that...
