My view on old armies going oop, it's progress as a company you have to introduce new products and there are always products that get discontinued yes some people will not like the decision but it has to happen, I'm not happy about Brets or Tomb kings even though I don't have the armies.

If GW didn't introduce new stuff we would still be collecting lead models.

I sort of understand the High elf dragon dislike it just seems too stagnant and tbh I'm not overly keen on the DE one either it's the wings they seem motionless.

The sigmarines did grow on me a tad but I still would not buy any, I'm sticking with Seraphon, Orcs and Gobbos and Deathrattle.

From GW's perspective (definitely not mine, because I love the Old World armies) I think it all comes down to cost. Those armies probably aren't selling enough models to justify keeping them around. They don't have enough shelf space in their stores and have to make room for the new stuff. Even for online orders, they still need space to store the product and devote production time to replenish stock. The new stuff just easily outsells it by such a large margin that it isn't financially feasible for them to keep the old armies around. As for caring about the thoughts of players, it is evident that they don't... killing 3 decades of fluff was proof of that.
You raise a great point, many of the new models are extremely fragile. Thin little wisps of plastic coming off at all sorts of angles. They are definitely not designed with gaming in mind. I'm in the same boat as you, I like the old models much better than the AoS stuff. The AoS stuff isn't necessarily bad, just not my taste (with the exception of the Gaunt Summoner which is awesome). RIP Tomb Kings... such a lovely army (outside of their core choices of course).

Ahaha, that would be amazing! :hilarious:

Regarding the HE dragon VS DE dragon... I find both of them amazing.
Too bad GW never did a similar model for Wood (A)elves, but we can guess why.

Personally I like the general AoS aesthetic/quality, but we have to admit it occasionally goes from amazing to bad.
I'm speaking about the models, not the rules (there're already too many discussions on this subject).

    Examples:
we agree the Gaunt Summoner is a BEAUTIFUL model, right?
Am I wrong, or the first ones seems short, static and kind of not interesting?
The others, by the way, are... would be beautiful models... but those beards... :vomit:

The same thing could be said for the artworks in our battletome, for example:
    look at pages 24 - 25 - 32 -33 - 43 - 44 - 45 - 71 - 87 etc.
    Nice, no?
    Then look at 30 - 35 - 36 - 72.
Perfect to join our #teammeh :meh: ( :hilarious: )
I know it is a personal opinion, but to me there's a real big difference...

But I repeat myself: I'm happy with the new models/artworks in general, and apart from the dracoth
I also like the Stormcast Ethernals' look a lot.

I liked Bretonnia, but I could never paint all that heraldry. But I could do that ghost green paint job on a bunch of them...

    ...they're Bretonnians. They're dead. They're ghosts...

Is there any other army on the chopping block after Bretonnia?

I think if there is any more models that will go opp, you need to think what has sold very little or what is least popular...so maybe the beastmen?

If there are any more armies on the block we will probably know/notice within another year or so. I mean I sorta hope not but at least we are luckily safe as an army.

My feelings on the current models are sorta off and on, always loved the dragons thought, usually I prefer bulky beasts but we don't want too much bulk taking up the field. But yeah the dracoths, I am part of team meh on the whole thing. I bet I could do something nice with the models as a whole at least.

So, there it is, a proper, huge dragon. Too bad it will be overpriced as hell, one dracoth rider alone costs 20 british pounds.

Also this week launched two "Start Painting" boxes, one for Space Mairnes, one for Sigmarines, and they even have the same paint pots: Ultrasmurfs and Golden Sigmarines. Not sure if trolling or confessing, however.

    What is "one dracoth rider"?
Is that the guys on the same bases as cavalry?

I won't be doing that. I dislike being interrogated by the GW official site — it always demands to know what country I am from, then if I give in, it may or may not give me the same 'user experience' or splash page it served up to you. So, nvrmnd.

They are on 90x52mm Oval bases. So quite a bit larger than cavalry 60x35mm
