Hi all I'm Nacho. I'm 34 years old, I'm from Madrid, Spain, and I play Tau in warhammer 40k and starting Lizardmen for the second time. Before I say anything else, I used to be a member of this forum long ago (like 7 years ago), with the name strim.uphill, but after I stopped playing and left the forum, I forgot the password for my old account and deleted the email attached to it, so... had to create a new one. Well now, you may be wondering, what's been of you these last years? Well, It's been quite a run, I can tell you that, but long story short, I sold nearly all my old Lizardmen and Tau miniatures when i quit the hobby, except for some that had some significance for me (my scratch throne of vines slann, a kroak and an old metal stegadon, which was the first miniature I had), so basically i'm starting from zero (again). So, i came back to miniatures in February, as my friends said that 8th edition warhammer 40k was very well done, and i started a Tau army for the second time. And now, those same friends are starting to play age of sigmar, and... though i have no intention to play that at the moment (can't spend too much right now, as my girlfriend and I are thinking of living together), I felt the same old rush running through my veins when i first started Lizardmen 14 years ago, as they are my all time favourite army. But... new game, new set of rules, new armies (apparently ye-olde-times marines too, what's with space marines that have to be everywhere?), new bases, new lore (we are now a different kind of demons??????)... and I don't know where to start, so I'm gonna need some help with that. And I think that's all. I'm really glad that this site is not only still running but has grown with time. Thanks everyone for reading this. See you all around here!
Welcome back. I play Tau too.. (well, not only them ) Lizzies are a strong army in AoS, but beware: the way you play this game is totally different from oldhammer, it is more similar to 40K now.
Thanks for the warm welcome Yeah, i've been told that (that is more similar to 40k than fantasy), but I haven't started playing and I already miss the old formations with lines and columns, i don't know, it felt more... medieval and fantastic than skirmish formations (though in 6th (or was it 5th?) i actualy played an all skirmish army with a slann, skinks, kroxigors charging through them and salamanders), but well, we have to evolve with the times, i guess.
I'm 35, I win! Welcome to the forums! Anyway, Let us know if you have any questions about game play, fluff, painting or anything else.
Thanks all. I can tell you i have a lot of questions (and I really mean A LOT), specially about game-play, unit usefulness, probably not about painting,at least for the moment, because i'm a bad painter with little time to practice (seriously, the painted models i own can be counted with the fingers of 1 hand, and they are really bad...), but for these first days i'll just look through the forums and read, to see if any of my questions are already answered, in order not to double-post. But i can assure you... i will ask.
