Have some touch ups on the models but I’m pretty happy with the basing so far. Feels a bit sparse though Tried to experiment with submerging some stuff in the water and it turned out awful. Looking for ways to clean up the back of the base and the waves over the sharks please help, the frustration is real lol. I am on the other hand pretty happy with my priest Also my balefire for lord mummy Still needs some highlights but I’ll get there eventually
I think the sand on the beach needs a few seashells or something, at least a few dots of different color in the sand to make it look less plain. But nice job on those, they look nice!
I agree. If you live fairly close to the beach, next time you're there pick up some shingle and add it to your bases. I did that with mine and it breaks up the monotony a bit better http://www.lustria-online.com/threads/ravagekittehs-models.19582/
Thank you! Shells are a good idea. I wanted to turn the carnos base into a bit of an action scene with the sand, but I’m afraid of making it too busy with a dead body or something like that, so maybe I’ll just look into some shells. Though I do have some small pieces of driftwood.
Oh snap I wish I had seen this before I started this adventure, those look fantastic. Go beach Dino’s! I’ve got an assorted pack of shells here so maybe I’ll get to crushing them up
What have you used for the water effects on the bases? to get a more realistic wave apply with a cocktail stick and flick it into crests then when dry, drybrush the tips white. Like this, Your sand needs another colour, try brybrushing the edge a lighter cream/white that will help break up the sand colour. good job so far keep it up
@Crowsfoot Well shit that does look a lot better. Water effects are a little unforgiving so hopefully I can try that out over what I have without needing to replace the models
Some works in progress. I’m terrified to touch the wings and fuck it up as I’ll never get those proper wing colors again. Going to do some minor waves against the ruins and try to dry brush the bodies to keep the details subtle Trying to get these and my bastilodon conversion done this weekend for a 4K game on Thursday. Wish I had gotten another unit of these. They’re equipped as Rippers but I hate the ripper heads sooo
Those remind me of mine, I used almost the same base colors. (I used purple on the top and blue on the botton)
The carno base is looking great, I would also recommend a little more to make it less static. But the addition of those little sharks is hilarious!
@Warden thanks I love the sharks! I’ve been trying to sneak them into a few bases since I’m converting an Allopex into a bastillodon for casual play. Sharks are my thing lol
@Aginor you absolute freaking genius. Idk why this never crossed my mind. After these skinks this is happening
Yet another work in progress because finishing things is hard. Also the rotating part of the staff makes me want to kill someone
I have been overrun by skinks, and in between drying time I’m working on the fine details to my remaining three heroes. I’ll post close ups if I ever finish these forty jerks
