I wondered if anyone could show me some examples of jungle bases cause I really don't know how to do them correctly and good looking, but I LOVE bases.

Here's what I do for a Jungle base:

    th_DSCN1648.jpg

    th_DSCN1649.jpg

Step 1: Glue sand to base after model, as normal
Step 2: Spray sand (and model) Chaos Black
Step 3: After painting model, paint sand Charadon Granite, apply 2-3 coats of Badab Black wash, then drybrush with Scorched Earth and Graveyard Earth
Step 4: Glue grass onto base
Step 5: Glue Clump Foliage onto base

sand bases, if there's room add some small rocks.
spray undercoat black, basecoat of scorched brown, single light drybrush of bleached bone.
paint rocks dark grey with a fortress grey highlight.
add plastic terrarium/fishtank plants that you can buy very cheaply at petstores.
    finished.

plastic terrarium plants have the proper scale for use with lizardmen.
i'll post some pics when i can of the swarm bases i'm working on, i use diferent plant types mixed together.
this give a real jungle feel to the bases.

Water is plain black with some green colours mixed in on the sides. Left to dry and then a simple finish of gloss varnish on top does it. The grass is coconut fibres from a mat:
