Lizardmen Colour Scheme

Hi there!
Does anybody here have any cool tips on colour schemes?
Right now I have tried out the classic blue and some kind of camo green. (Pictures)
What do you think?

 

They both look cool. The good thing about Skinks is that they can be pretty much any color, so you can experiment with a lot of different combinations before picking something definitive for your Saurus. Personally, I use Scorpion Green on my Skinks and Thraka Green on my Saurus. The basic thing is to try a bunch of different things until you find one that YOU like.

 

I painted all my troops in an orange/grey scheme. You base flesh in orange, and scales in black. ink the flesh with gryphone sepia and then red wash. drybrush the scales in any type of grey.

Its a really fast and effective way of painting large amounts of skink.

 

I like the green one best, nice work. His eye looks a little bit funny though.... Could be just the photo.

 

I'm all for the blue!
The green one looks a bit 'splotchy,' if you know what I mean.

 

I like how that green one came out, he looks real dirty and angry, like Rambo...

 

If I had to choose, I would go with the green scheme.

I am slightly biased though as my lizardmen are green.

Have you tried any other colours such as a yellow, orange or red?

 

I like the blue, but color schemes are really personal, whatever you like you'll enjoy.

Your painting skills are good though, so once you pick your army will look pretty good, I can already tell.

I'm painting on a grey and red one and it'll probably be photographed tomorrow.

Well, the thing about the green one was that it's supposed to look "splotchy". He's after all a real badass jungle lizard, right? Camouflage is important.

I will probably paint half my skinks one way and the other half in another way in the end but if you have any other ideas then bring them out.

I like the colour scheme, but I'm probably not gonna use it. It's a bit... hmm... a little bit extreme. =/
Perhaps only on a few.

i think the best and the most mad is the grey.
colour options i have gone for myself are red with lack scales.seems to look good on them i think
although what i use for champions to make them stand out which i think looks really good too(hence used for the champs) is yellow with black scales,weill try and get some pics sorted monday

 

I think that it looks better if Lizardmen have a cold colour scheme. (Green, blue, gray etc.)
I'm not really in to the warmer colours. =/ Markings and details are ok, but not for the main colour.

The green scheme will be used. I might use the grey or blue as well, or even find a new scheme, but the green has recived a lot of nice comments.

 

I love that last one; he makes the skink look really menacing rather than just a small creature. Something like 'I will %^&* you up!' he should cause fear.

Really, it comes down to whichever scheme you personally like best and enjoy painting the most.

 

i like the green personnally but the blue works good too i paint my saurus blue except for the champions i make them stand out an albino white but im not the best painter

I think he looks awesome, like the red looks sort of native like.
