Nice work so far, i really like the skink colors so far. also really like the Cold one color scheme. what colors did you use to get that greenish yellow look? im kind of going for something like that on my cold ones (except a little more earthy) and i cant quite get it to look right

Really cool looking skinks. How did you do the shields? I can never get white to look good when I paint it... They look great though.

    Err... *Half an eternity later*

    Thanks. ^^
I'm pretty sure I used camo green and camo green+Sunburst yellow. Ye, that's what I did... And a base of scorched brown.

    Yeah, cool skink. :meh: :D
The pictures(and that damn sun) has fooled and tricked people a bit on the shield... And for some reason only the shields... o_O
The shields were actually quite brown, beige/brown. But I tried the same thing I did before and added lighter colours and it became quite light, so a good base for white at least...

Umm... I used Dark angels green and Blood red and mixed them, it should be quite brown. Add some more dark angels green until it's "nurglish" dark green and then add Bleached bone and after that skull white...

I changed the shields later however, since I found out that washing them with the "nurglish" green gave them a nice look. Just like turtle shells. :) Texture and everything on a flat surface... :jawdrop:

But well I finished the skinks and can now list up a list again.

    Skink priest (Done)
    10 Skinks (Done)
    Kroxigor (WiP)
    Skink chief (Modelled)
    Saurus hero (Modelled&primed)
    Cold one (Done)

So... Ye... I got 3 models to do until the end of August... This should be interesting... With school and such nonsense... :shifty:

    On to the pics!

NOTE: The camera hates me and wouldn't take any spectacular pics... Seriously... It hates me! :depressed:
So I'll post those that actually were good.

    IMG_3582.jpg

The Kroxigor pics were taken with another camera, that's not as good but it doesn't hate me. :smug:
Unfortunately the batteries in it died... And my recharger is at my dad's... o_O

    C&C is welcome.

    Cheers!

Oh, it's always nice to inspire people. I feel honoured.

Hey, hey, welcome to lustria. ^^

Thank you. ^^ Don't ever think age has anything with painting skills to do, it's experience that matters... I know a guy in particular who paints better than me and he's twelve, I think...
But ye, I'm 16 anyway and have been doing this for about 2 years, and been in the hobby for more than 6 years...

You should consider creating your own thread(There's an icon over the field where all the topics are) as to not clutter my thread. :p

    Anyway!

I managed to get better pics of my skinks, mostly be realising that I couldn't get a clear shot on all 10 unless they were bunched up together... Which didn't look good, at all...
So I figured I'll just edit out the parts that were blurry and take shots somewhere else then the box I used for the other ones(I'm gonna make it white btw, black doesn't work)...

    So, 'ere we go!

There's also my other stuff in my blog... Unfortunately I had to remove the link from my sig. ): (Character limits o_O
    So I'll post it instead.

The shields have been mentioned by a couple of others and possibly myself, but I just have to say I really think they are the best shields for LM I have seen. I love the turtle shell theme to them, and you pulled off the colour and texture really well!

Thanks, it warms my heart to "hear" such words. ^^

Most certainly not, I just think it looks cool... :D
    And thanks. ^^

Anyway, time is pushing on and my faith in myself is failing, but I'll keep up and not lose my will to paint...
Mostly since my deadline is pushing closer and closer...

So anyway, pics of the Kroxigor, I'm going to finish the eyes and such later today then do the weapon and call him finished. I'm going to proceed on the Saurus after that.

    BHLA!

    :)

I, in my very very long lunch break today (Teacher felt nice apparently) I started painting on the Saurus hero.
I finished him about 2 hours ago, so I'm going to post him. :)

    Mr. C, I choose you!
    *Carrying bag is thrown*

    SDC12288.jpg
    SDC12291.jpg

    --------------------------

Also, because I could I took a picture of my whole bunch of painted Lizards... Which I estimate to 425pts. :D
New record, 425pts in 3 months... Took me 2 years to paint 1000pt of Tyranids so... Ye... I'm gonna thank you as I see you guys as the biggest motivator. ;)

    --------------------------

    SDC12292.jpg

    --------------------------

Note that Mr. C's shield is browner than the skinks' shields. This was intended. :)

    Cheers!

I really like what you've done with the posing of the shield arm on your scar-vet, it is very dynamic. All you need is some arrows sticking out of his shield...

Oddly enough I was thinking of that, but unfortunately I don't have any arrows to spare. :(

    Odd, isn't it?
I have over 3k pts of Wood elves but no arrow bits to spare... o_O

I did find an arrow after a while, but can't be bothered to take a pic of it...
Just imagine a brown arrow with white feathers on the shield...

    Imagination, the poor man's models.

    Anyhow...
    I did finish, or I think it's finished, I don't know...
But I 'Finished' a Saurus champion, should be in the previous pages of the thread, maybe 1st or 2nd...

But oh well, here he is!
    I hate the teeth...

I agree, I think you should go with a bit more of a bone colour on the teeth, other than that though it looks very cool. Good work.

That helm is a random piece you can get off of a extra bits from your CoKnights parts (not sure if you can get it from other ones as well as i've only gotten my CoKnights unit so far ;) ) .. There are actually two and i ended up using both as shoulder armor for my customized hero on CO

The models look nice! Keep up the good/hard work and you'll be painting like a pro in no time! :D

Thanks for the nice comments. ^^
It is indeed a part from the CO kit that's eating his head. :)

    Anyhow, update.
Finished the standard bearer. And thought that we might compare to how they look. (Champion and standard bearer)

Oh god, that gap in the leg there looks horrible... But meh, he'll have another 16 saurus poking him in the back anyway. :D

    C&C appreciated. ^^
