So is this going to be a new board game? A worldwide AoS campaign? Something else?
Guess we will find out in 20hrs
This is what I posted about it over on TGA a few minutes ago:
Hmmm I have the feeling I don't quite get something because I am rather new to this.
Is that name "Malign Portents" something that rings a bell for y'all older wargamers? Something from the old world?
Otherwise I just see the Age of Sigmar logo and that one model we have seen already, which looks cool and IIRC somebody wrote that there will be models from all grand alliances?
I don't think it is a roleplaying game. Those are marketed under the "Warhammer Quest" label, right?
I can't imagine it has to do with Shadespire or something because it isn't "Warhammer Underworlds" as far as I can tell.
My best (completely uneducated) guess is that it might be something like the "Blight War" box which was a strange crossover between a Battletome light for Nurgle and an AoS starter box.
So what I expect is... a box containing some Death models (including that new one we have seen) and some Stormcast, including a new SCE model.
Maybe also some new rules/abilities like with Blight War.
EDIT: Since the King of Shrouds (I think that was his name) is Nighthaunt maybe it won't be as much of a "Death" rlease but only a part of Death (Nighthaunt)?
I admit I had hoped they would, dunno... make Death a bit less cluttered, with Skellies (Deathrattle) and Ghosts (Nighthaunt) and maybe Zombies (Deathwalkers) becoming more generic and combinable with others so we don't have as many splinter factions in Death.
@Crowsfoot I think that's 20 DAYS not hours.
I read it as 20 days 19 hours 15 minutes 20 seconds from now.
Oh I only quickly looked, DOH!!
By the way:
All that talk of good times ending and danger incoming combined with those pictures under a full moon reminds me of...
What is TGA?
An AoS forum, The Grand Alliance. I post there occasionally.
I'll just assume you were too busy painting!
I mean, GW says hope is dead, so I suppose we should.
Posted my thoughts here:
Think it's about the continuation of the narrative in the mortal realms, and everything being darker may hint at specific factions receiving some love. I'm expecting Death (Of course), and Dark Aelves , and then I hope they surprise us with brand new factions for Destruction and Chaos. They do seem to be preparing us for a Darkoath Faction for Chaos, and your guess is as good as mine for what they got prepared for Destruction. Would love a new Ogor faction with a darker theme (not that eating everyone they find isn't dark enough in itself), maybe something related to dark magics would be cool and fresh.
Grimderp for AoS?
Dark Stormcast maybe!
Meh, I'd rather have the existing stuff fleshed out than new factions. There's several factions with like ~10 different units that only really have 1 type of unit say infantry, not to mention the stuff that's in need of an update cuz it's simply old (us, and basicly every faction that doesn't have a tome)
I agree, as this is also what I would love to see, but it is not what I'm expecting GW to do, atleast not in the near future.
Work computer is blocking the image, could you tell me what this is?
It is a YouTube video, Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Bad Moon Rising"
I hope in some new stuff for Death.
I would rather see another Death faction than another Destruction faction, maybe a darker, Nagashified version of Tomb Kings - the Skeleton image in the website looks a lot like a Tomb King.
Also it would be good if they brought more Elf stuff out after they took a lot of it away on the transfer from fantasy to AoS.
