Thank you very much. Plans for when the inevitable wargames atlantic skeleton cavalry come out: 1. Several units of cav to use as black knights. The most "duh" of plans. 2. 3 cav in an arrow Head formation, with two cav pinned to the "side" cavalryman above the left and right hindquarter respectively. This will give the appearance of being in "flight"/floating. Possibly extra cavalry, depending on how it looks these will be painted in my green shade used to display ethereal effects.. Attached to this calvacade will be a sort of dias. The core of this dias will be a piece of plasticard, which will be absolutely covered in parts from the skeleton infantry kit to give it an ossuary look and feel. I am expecting to use 95% of the parts in a full infantry kit to make this happen. Standing on this dias will be one of my necromancer conversions and most likely a couple skeleton Spearmen. Everybody on the dias will be stationed around some form of amphorae. There will be a couple of random spirits from GW to represent the banshees for the banshee wail ability. This will be used as a mortis engine. 3. Much the same as 2, but nix the banshees and replace the amphorae with a gorgon/Medusa mini of choice. Boom, bloodseeker palanquin. 4. Much the same as 3, but the crew will be entirely converted from mantic succubi to be Greek themed female vampires. This will be used as a coven throne. What does everyone think?
Steam tank minus any freehand on the shields, and 10 more ironbreakers sans shields and a drybrush once the basing grit is dry.
5 more low tech imperial guard infantry. Bringing the total to 15 so far. I've got a bunch of stuff on the plate for the weekend, including more of this stuff, designing a historicals sprue, more chaos for my commission client, and a couple other items. Im Im hop to finally start on the war cry starter set I've had sitting for a friend of mine, but that may wait till early next week.
Metallics and then complete. This brings me up to a total of 30 of these guardsmen painted so far. The squads you see here will eventually have a sergeant figure replacing one of the regular mooks. There will be a little bit of reorganization at that point
1 khorgos khul on commission, 1 set of umbral spellportals, 1 company commander. Debating on doing anything extra to the portals. Thoughts?
I love the blue of the portals very mesmerizing to look at. The rims of the portals look a bit mono-colored, they look very clean. Maybe apply an (extra) wash and/or highlights? Or bring in just a little color. By applying a green or blue wash? Grrr, Imrahil
I would probably give the blue a careful bright drybrush, and a shade to the rims like @Imrahil suggested. (And a base obviously).
