Awesome terrain piece. That will look great on the gaming table. It has a very good ancient feel to it! :)

For next time: It may be easier to just make platforms, glue those together and then carve in the block shapes.

I did consider that approach and actually did a test piece but found it was actually more work getting the single platform to look like separately laid blocks than it was just to build seperate blocks. Ill perfect it for next time though.

You might want to give this technique a go...

Been meaning to give it a go myself... eventually. :shifty:

Yes I've done a bit of that in the past. It's great for making rubble walls or brickwork but not as good for big statuesque structures IMO. Especially these sort of large block ziggurats.

The pink foam I'm using after a good sanding down has a natural stone like texture, the blue foam in this video I haven't experimented with yet but it is a lot more dense.

Yeah I´ve done that method myself and it takes quite some significant amount of time, but I actually like it better ;).

Super late to the vine party but...

Just use garden twine/string! It's ready textured. You can apply PVA glue to reduce the amount of texture. It's super usable in getting where you want it, too...
