Even though this is not a Lizardmen Idea here is a very cheap method of making some cheap movement tray's first off goto your local hobby store for me its a Hobby Town USA in Manassas here is all you need 1 Hobby Knife 1 Bass wood (Balsa wood) 12inches by 6 inchs 1 Bass wood (Balsa wood) think stick 1/32 by about 18 inches. this is the little stick that breaks once you put in the bag... Ugg 1 Super glue (i preferred this over wood and GW glue) 1 Pin for marking 1 piece of sandpaper and some models for measuring distance most important Cutting Board. Seriously. the Knife is decently sharp and id recommend this before you make a cut in that 800 table of yours. anyone can do this im not really going to explain in detail how it was done. most importantly it cost 6 bucks for 5 things of wood and 5 sticks. thats 16 bucks cheaper then GW and it took like 14 min per 1.
looks good, i've got a ton of scrap wood hanging around so i might be able to make a few. i bet you could add a bit more of detail if you painted the edges green them dry brushed over with a little bit of brown for a cool jungle affect. by the way, i really like the brown cold one, it's a nice color theme. camo-skink
Umm well at first they are yellow like FF Chocobos im trying to make them more lizard like. The one is front is non-washed the back on is Covered in Black wash as a test. Most seem to like the dark wash on the yellow makes it more of a tan and black. thanks though i am still WIP on most everything
Those are cool! I made my own movement tray out of foamboard and cardstock: I've heard of people making their own out of old sprues before as well. Check this out: http://www.heresy-online.net/forums/showthread.php?t=23531
Gotta do this soon Sorry to say Asrodrig, but ur lizzies gave me an idea for mine. Plz don't think I'm 'stealing' it
Your movement trays are really nice, and I also think you did a great job on the color scheme. I have a big book of reptiles, amphibians, etc., that I use for a reference, and your saurus would be right at home in there. The whole army must look spectacular! Cheers--
