hi guys, i'm a new lizardman player. i've bought the batallion and i'd thought i'd show how it's going.

    02042009312.jpg

    just built.

    03042009315.jpg

    primed and ready to go.

    03042009316.jpg

thought i'd go a bit different, that's devlan mud wash over white base.

1 tester guy to see how his shield would turn out. also based the gold parts with dark flesh and black washed the spear tip.

    c&c welcome guys.

Those look pretty good, I am planning on doing a desert-ish theme for mine and those seem like they'd be good colors. How exactly did you go about the skin part? I'll also need some white primer looks like.

it really was as simple as white primer basecoat and devlan mud wash.

Awesome color scheme, nice and quick too. What did you use to color the shield?

Wow that is indeed pretty cool for such a simple scheme. Looks like at least a couple of the washes are decent afterall.

the shield was solar macharius orange and baal red wash. again simples. i'm busy basing the gold parts at the moment, it's proving to be a pain in the butt. i'll get there though.

I'm not sure what you are planning to do with them so this could be a bit irrelevant, but at this stage I think the flesh looks a bit flat. The scales need to at least be a different shade to the skin, if not a different colour, to make the models stand out more and look more striking. At the moment they just look unfinished, which I guess is true but the lizard bits look unfinished.

oh yeah crikey it's long finished, they look ok at the moment and would do for a quick get up for a game, but yes it is flat and i will be painting the scales a different colour. still figuring out out though.

you could bring the orange/red color of the shield over to the scales, that would look very striking.
or go the other way around and do something that clashes hard color wise like, but give ultimate contrast to the model making it stand out.

If I'd be u, I'd get them a kind of bony color, probably bleached bone with a Badab Black wash over it to keep it as simple as possible

Those kroxigor look fantastic! Much better than the GW ones IMO. What washes did you use? Sepia then red?

almost, ogryn flesh then baal red. i was just going to do ogryn flesh then though nah... looks boring, so splashed the red on saying to myself, i can always repaint it, and it looked good. another layer of red to go though.
