Possibly, but it is still official lore & it fits sufficiently with their other lore to not really stand out. And especially that last bit irks me. Even if it's a bad story, it's sufficiently in character to be true. Also, the obsession with ur-gold is such a fundamental part of their character that simply blaming this particular example on "bad writing" seems like a bit of a cop-out.

Yea, the Razordon is still available to buy. I don't think they update the salamander and not the Razordon.

With those Warcry cards sauri are not going anywhere in a hurry.

The only thing getting updated, is this thread, 10 thousand times before the battletome drops!

Alright, I'm holding my hopes & dreams for Adepticon seeing as it's only 4 weeks away now. If we don't get something by then, I'm just going to go back to my eternal contemplation in my cozy starchamber.

in their battletome it explicitly explains that if the entity that they made a deal with breaks that deal, they will rend them asunder unforgivingly. this is not a betrayal, but a response to betrayal. its is not out of the realm or reasonableness to think Nagash tricked them or set up the situation to force their employer to break faith, but it is still unfair to call them willing to betray anyone, as they will not do so no matter what so long as that person maintains the deal in good faith.

I've already gone back to 40k personally, my Khorne daemons are really fun to play in 40k even though it's kinda like playing Very hard Mode. I prefer the strength vs toughness system (bastiladon would be sturdier in that system, plaguebearers would not be able to take it down). This new battletome was gonna make me play AoS again but unfortunately it won't come out.

issue is they weren't betrayed. Or even slighted by the human city. The city was acting in good faith, which they knew. And the reason they had trouble paying them was cuz Nagash kept assaulting the caravans, which they also knew. And to which they responded by sending a bigger escort of fyreslayers with the next set of caravans cuz every single caravan was escorted by fyreslayers due to their importance. All of which was stated in that short story. Also, weirdly enough despite this caravans being completly fyreslayer controlled simply handing over the ur-gold to the caravan didn't count as having paid. For some inexplicable reason it only counts if the gold actually makes it to their mountainhold, despite the wellbeing caravans obviously not being under the control of the city.

Hence what ultimatly ended up happening is that they betrayed their employers, mid-battle, simply because Nagash offered to pay them more. And they then soothed their conscience with a flimsy excuse. There was no betrayal, or slight, from the city, and Nagash didn't even trick them. Hell, I don't think there was even a real argument among the fyreslayers themselves if they should take this bribe or honour their oath to the city.

O, and not just that, but the emmisary of Nagash asked them to simply step aside, they didn't have to continue fighting. Instead they joined the Nighthaunt in slaying their former employers. Cuz you know, having betrayed their former employees they might as well try to take the remaining ur-gold from their vaults. And got slain themselves in a form of karmic retribution.

Based on this story their oaths are completly worthless. Hell, there's a short story in a recent white dwarf about some ogers who got bribed to defend a city with food and even they had a better justification for their eventual betrayal. At least their deal actually got ruined.... And being less trustworthy than ogers is kind of impressive. It's just one hell of a weird story, but not weird enough to clearly be just a "bad" story by someone who doesn't know fyreslayers.

40k is a mess right now. Locally, our last event a few days ago was Half marines, 1 Ork army, 1 Tau army, 1 Sisters army, 1 Guard army, and 1 Chaos Daemons army. Fully half the lists present were marines of some sort, from Grey Knights to Minotaurs, even two Dark Angels!

And Iron Hands took it, over RG successors and MInotaurs being 3rd. It was disheartening to see such.... Blatent favoritism in a book. I didn't even bother taking my Tyranids, due to not having a Maleceptor to at least give me a fighting chance turn 1. (Something I do want to add to my army at least).

In all honestly, I've not lost my desire to play or I'vehobby my scaly/chitinous Bois, just been working on another game entirely. A non-GW game that's already showing me they care far more about balance and customer communication.
They're even going to have Aztec Orcs riding giant feathered dinosaurs soon.

Blood of Baal Strategem that costs 2cp (?) That decreases the strength of all shots targeting friendly Tyranid units within 6"(?) Of the Maleceptor By 1. It ups survivability of your entire army drastically. Also, it can be used in any turn, but it's most effective at making you harder to kill when you may not get the first turn.

Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings by Para Bellum. It's a really tight game, written by one of the brains that helped with 6th Edition WHFB.
Models are pretty large, 32mm scale, and it's a rank and file game, but I'm liking it all. It'll probably be my competitive go to, with AoS and 40k staying as Beer and Pretzel funtime.

I wholeheartedly agree with you regarding the strength/toughness system. When they decided to "dumb down" the old fantasy rules and replace it with AoS rules, they went too far removing this very flavorful mechanic. The chance to hit, sure get rid of that, but a goblin shouldn't have the same chance to wound a human as they do a dragon (or a bastilladon for that matter!).

It feels like the Fantasy/AoS rule rewrite was a testing ground for the upcoming 40k 8th edition. Keywords, no facing, overall easier and less bloat (to start with anyways). Only thing, that time around they decided to keep the S/T-system.

Right, that's it! All my money is going on the 40k Chibi's until more information is released about the Seraphon.

I’m pretty sure Seraphon will get updated before Adepticon, given that Adepticon will be used to preview brand-new stuff (or at least it should be).

One thing to bear in mind with all this is that all these factions (particularly those of Order) tend to have all sorts of subfactions that usually have varying levels of morality. In Idoneth for example there’s the main one (Ionrach I think) which makes all sorts of deals and agreements with the rest of Order, while there’s also a bunch who just take souls whenever they feel like it. I’m pretty sure that it’s been established somewhere that there are some Lodges that are incredibly noble (I think I remember reading about one which the others all hate because they help people for free and it drives down prices) and others who will literally just do anything for Ur-Gold - you can ally the Greyfyrd with anyone in game with mercenary companies, including Nagash, so it doesn’t seem too far fetched that there would be at least one Lodge like that.
