i have recently returned to warhammer after a 9 year absence and decided to take up Lizardmen, i didn't want to go down the GW blue scheme as wanted something a little bit different. I have decided to go with a desert theme and just foir background will have my force based defending the western front of Lustria that leads onto the copper desert. Please take a look at my first attempts and let me know what you think. I havent painted for 9 years either so very rusty so be gentle. I would be grateful for any feedback on how i can improve my painting and also your thoughts on the colour scheme.
ues the [ pic ] tags around the photobucket link, yea we use odd tags here to keep the spam bots down.
doesnt seem to be making a difference im probably doing it wrong im not very good on forums. what do i need to do?
Hard to tell, as a general guide try and keep the sun behind you when taking photos, Although, the crests look awesome.
had a little change of heart, what do you guys think to this scheme?? and which of my two ideas you prefer? once again any advice would be most appreciated the last thing to do on these guys is the shield so any advice on a nice colour for the shields that matches would be great, i intend to use the same colour shields for all my infantry to tie the army theme together and planned to use the shield colour as the scales on my stegadon, i assume they have to get their shield scales from somewhere after all.
Woah I like the purple and orange scheme a lot better, they would probaly look good with some orange shields, with a wash of delvin mud,,,?
I like it - very original. You could try putting some purple spots on their fins, like you did in the first one.
what do you think? i think it needs more yellow highlights but dont want it too close to the skinks scales
Try doing some edge highlights with Vomit Brown. If you're really keen on using a yellow, then try Desert Yellow. It's duskier than the yellow's you've used on the scales and fin.
ok so here is my first finsihed skink i have tried to make the shield look worn but not sure if it quite works. would appreciate any feedback on how to improve this is only the 6th model i have ever painted so im still learning.
yes for sure, probably more the fact it took me an hour on one skink than talent i would say but im hoping to get both faster and better with more practise.
ok i think my eyes are going to fall out but heres what ive got done today, 10 hours non stop of painting. I have tried to keep every model to the same standard as the first and im happy with the outcome. once again feedback would be great
