Rather than create numerous different threads for each battle/list, I though it might be easier just to create one thread where I can post idea list ideas or requests for your own own suggestions. I’ll also try and stick all the models I have in my collection here to save any confusion. To clarify I am a very inexperienced player, so I will probably need a lot of advice on tactics and good list making. Here goes... *Gulp* (I may go a bit nuts with placeholders) Contents: Armies: Seraphon Beastclaw Raiders Stormcast Eternals Blades of Khorne Statuses: - B: To be built - P: To be painted - T: Not fully based but otherwise ready - F: Finished 1000 Point lists: Shadowstrike vs Khorne friendly lists 2000 Point lists: Heavily Defensive Stormcast Eternals 2500 Point lists: 2500 Point Fangs of Sotek 2500 Point Olwyr Alfrostun

I know it’s heresy of the highest accord, but the first list I’ve come up with is a Stormcast one. I’d be intrigued to know your thoughts: Allegiance: Stormcast Eternals Leaders: Lord-Castellant (100) - General - Command Trait: Staunch Defender - Mystic Light (Artefact): Fury Brand Lord-Relictor (100) - Prayer: Translocation Lord-Celestant on Dracoth (220) - Tempestos Hammer - Mount Trait: Thunder Caller Knight-Venator (120) Knight-Vexillor (120) - Pennant of the Stormbringer - Treasured Standard (Artefact): Lichebone Standard Knight-Heraldor (100) Units: 5x Liberators (100) - Warblade & Shield - 1 x Grandblade 5 x Liberators (100) - Warhammer & Shield 5 x Liberators (100) - Warhammer & Shield 5 x Judicators (160) - Skybolt Bows - 1 x Shockbolt Bow 5 x Protectors (200) - 1 x Starsoul Mace 3 x Prosecutors with Celestial Hammers (100) 3 x Retributors (220) Battalions: Lords of the Storm (140) Hammerstrike Force (120) Total: 2000/2000 Leaders: 6/6 Battlelines: 4 Command Points: 3 Artefacts: 2 This force is mainly designed for Knife to the Heart, but could likely be used elsewhere. The idea would be to field the majority of the forces in a block. The Lord-Castellant would use his lantern to buff the Liberators saves, and the Protectors would limit enemy shooting while the Judicators and Knight-Venator would do their own, and the Relictor and Vexillor heal up casualties. The block would probably sit on a home objective and allow the enemy to come to it, whittling it down before crushing it with the might of its ridiculous save. Meanwhile, the Knight Heraldor, the Prosecutors and the Retributors would sit in the Celestial Realm. Once the enemy has sent their forces halfway towards my block, they will lightning strike in at the relatively unguarded objective along with support from the Lord-Celestant and using the various methods of transportation available, potentially one of the units of Liberators, and hopefully take control. My questions are 1. What other Artefact should I take, and 2. What are your thoughts on the list and tactics in general. As I said, I'm quite an inexperienced player, and I've come up with this entirely myself. I feel that it would be quite forgiving to play, helping my inexperienced nature, but please give your honest thoughts and opinions so I can learn from my inevitable mistakes.
Here's another list I've come up with, this time a Seraphon one for 2500 points Allegiance: Seraphon Leaders: Slann Starmaster (260) - General - Command Trait: Great Rememberer - Artefact: Incandescet Retrices Saurus Oldblood on Carnosaur (260) - Artefact: Zoetic Dial Saurus Sunblood (120) - Artefact: Blade of Realities Saurus Scar-Veteran on Cold One (100) - Artefact: Coronal Shield Skink Starpriest (80) - Artefact: Light of Dracothion Units: 10 x Saurus Warriors (100) - Clubs 10 x Saurus Warriors (100) - Clubs 10 x Saurus Warriors (100) - Clubs 5 x Saurus Knights (90) - Lances 5 x Saurus Knights (90) - Lances 5 x Saurus Knights (90) - Lances 3 x Terradon Riders (120) - Starstrike Javelins 10 x Skinks (60) - Meteoric Javelins & Star Bucklers 10 x Skinks (60) - Boltspitters & Moonstone Clubs 1 x Salamander (40) Behemoths: Bastiladon (280) Battalions: Fangs of Sotek (70) Sunclaw Starhost (130) Firelance Starhost (150) Shadowstrike Starhost (180) Total: 2480/2500 Leaders: 5/8 Battlelines: 8 Behemoths: 2/5 Artillery: 1/5 Command Points: 5 Artefacts: 5/5 Once again, let me know what you think, and any tips of tricks you might have. This list's tactics would probably be more tailored to the enemy army than that of the Stormcast list, so I don't think they'd be cast iron enough to list as a constant. Thanks.
One for Beastclaw Raiders: Allegiance: Beastclaw Raiders Leaders: Frostlord on Thundertusk (420) - General - Command Trait: Everwinter's Master - Command Trait: Massive Bulk - Artefact: The Pelt of Charngar Huskard on Stonehorn (340) - Blood Vulture - Artefact: The Bleeding Skull of Dragaar Units: 4 x Mournfang Pack (320) - Culling Clubs or Prey Hackers with Iron Fists 4 x Mournfang Pack (320) - Culling Clubs or Prey Hackers with Iron Fists 4 x Mournfang Pack (320) - Culling Clubs or Prey Hackers with Iron Fists 2 x Frost Sabres 2 x Frost Sabres Behemoths: Stonehorn Beastriders (320) - Chaintrap Battalions: Eurlbad (170) Olwyr Alfrostun (190) Total: 2480/2500 Leaders: 2/8 Battlelines: 4 Behemoths: 3/5 Artefacts: 2/3 Again, I would very much like to hear your opinions on this and my other lists - all comments, advice and queries welcome!
Next are two 1000 point lists me and a friend are likely going to play against each other. The main question here is are they evenly matched. I’m not looking for either side to be better than the other - rather that the battle will be fun and could go either way. Seraphon: Allegiance: Seraphon Leaders: Saurus Sunblood (120) - General - Command Trait : Thickly Scaled Hide - Artefact : Incandescent Rectrices Skink Starpriest (80) - Artefact : Prism of Amyntok Units: 10 x Skinks (60) - Meteoric Javelins & Star Bucklers 10 x Skinks (60) - Boltspitters & Moonstone Clubs 3 x Terradon Riders (120) - Starstrike Javelins 10 x Saurus Warriors (100) - Clubs 10 x Saurus Warriors (100) - Clubs Behemoths Troglodon (160) Battalions: Shadowstrike Starhost (180) Total: 980/1000 Leaders: 2/4 Battleline: 4/2 Behemoths: 1/2 Artefacts: 2/2 Khorne: Allegiance: Khorne Leaders: Mighty Lord of Khorne (120) - General - Command Trait : Slaughterborn Slaughterpriest (100) - Blood Blessing : Bronzed Flesh Bloodsecrator (140) - Banner of Khorne (Artefact) : Banner of Rage Units: 10 x Bloodletters (120) - Bloodsoaked Banner 5 x Blood Warriors (100) - Goreaxe & Gorefist 1 x Khorgoraths (90) 3 x Bloodcrushers (140) 1 x Skull Cannons (150) Total: 960/1000 Leaders: 3/4 Battleline: 2/2 Artillery: 1/2 Artefacts: 1/1 As I said before, the purpose of these lists isn’t for one to be able to beat the other easily, but for the two to be evenly matched against each other. It seems ok to me, but you guys are far more experienced, so I would very much appreciate it if you could give any comments, tweaks or general advice, either with these or with any of my other list ideas. Thanks
I dont know much about khorne, but the seraphon list looks like it'll be a hard play. I'm not sure about using terradons in the shadowstrike as the deepstrike brings them in at the end of movement and their MW trigger in the movement phase so they will most likely die before they get a chance to use it. Most khorne stuff is really good in melee too so I dont expect the warriors to last long.
No, the warscroll says "in any of your movement phases" and it doesn't say that you cannot move afterwards. They can move and drop their bombs in the phase they are set up. (Unless I missed a FAQ on that). Move them 9" toward the enemy, 1" over them, 3" back. That's 14" total and you have moved over an enemy so you can drop bombs. Note that all Terradons can drop their bombs even though only one has moved over an enemy. About the lists... I don't know much about Khorne but the Seraphon list looks quite weak. The Terradons are fine and they will most likely do some good damage (sniping the Bloodsecrator or anything else that looks like it is the biggest threat), and the Troglodon might work if it hits first, but neither the Saurus nor the Skinks will do a lot.
Nice selection of models, I think some more razerdons and sallys could come in useful, especially with the summoning mechanics this video makes a good comparison between the two -watch Although they do cost a pretty penny for just one, if you don't have the money to spare you should spend an evening with some green stuff and cold nes/coldone dark elf spear riders and get some nice looking cheap alternatives -
Given the size of my current collection, the amount I still have to go and my lack of being part of a competitive gaming scene, along with the obvious cost, I think I’ll probably leave it for now. However, if I do find myself getting more into the gaming side of things, I’ll definitely want to pick some up, alongside some Ripperdactyls and others .
So at some point I’m planning to have a game, and because of my friends small collection size compared to mine, I’d thought it would probably be a good idea for them to borrow some of my Beastclaw. My question is, are these two armies evenly matched. The battleplan would be Ambush in the Cursed Temple, as detailed in the Seraphon Battletome Seraphon: Beastclaw: Seraphon tactics would be to stick the Saurus Guard and Warden at the objective at the beginning, and the bring in the rest turn 1. Slann can sit and summon whilst the rest of the army can get between the Beastclaw and use the driving force ability to keep them away - the extra 3” movement in the beginning should help. Beastclaw aren’t so though out as my opponent would be controlling them, but the Icebrow Hunter in the Skal should be helpful claiming the objective and the Jorlbad will help with charging towards the centre. Thoughts?
