AoS Skink army - Old WFB player (small list)

    Hi everyone,

    I used to play WFB when I was younger, now I pace the realm of WH40K for a quiet long time. With the change of WFB to AoS I want to complete an army again and play with Lizardmen/Seraphon. I have got some miniatures but, to be honest, do not orient so much in AoS yet. So I present my old-new army list and will be pleased if You comment and support my efforts with starting-up. I do not know where I should take the points from so I present it without point compilation (as it was previously said that in AoS there are no points but, to my satisfaction, there really are.).

    10 x skinks with blowpipes
    10 x skinks with blowpipes
    5 x Cameleon Skinks
    3 x Terradon
    1 x Skink Priest
    1 x Skink Starseerer (I read some army lists and forums and extracted that he is quiet good to have one)
    And now some heavy drilling stuff
    Stegadon or a Salamander ? I have got them all but don't know what is most appropriate for a small list.
    I do not like playing with Saurus Regiments so I do not take them into account on purpose.

    Welcome aboard! For this list if you want 1000 points I would take in addition to what you have:
    Shadowstrike Starhost
    Skink Chief as your general
    2× salamanders with 2× handlers
    Or drop the salamanders and take 2 units of 20 skinks.

    But I like the Stegadon better
    So I would take your list add the chief and the Shadowstrike Starhost, and put in the stegadon. it is a gun stompy beast that will give you a bit more hitting power.

    Shadowstrike starhost is neat! I took 6 rippers and watch the world burn... ;)
    Its all about manuver, in a skink army you cant take a punch. But you could deliver one- thats why im suggesting rippers over terradons.

    Alright - so initially summing-up

    Heros:
    Skink Chief (can it be any skink who will be entitled as a Skink Chief? I have some in my army but on GW website the model of Skink Chief is no more)
    Skink Priest
    Skink Starseer (is he much different than starpriest?)

    Basic:
    2x20 Skink Skirmishers (or 2x10 + 2xSalamanders)
    5xCameleon
    3xTerradons (or Rippers)

    Or should I change salamanders into Rippers/Terradons ? Which option is better?

    It is discontinued but you can still find them, or make one skink stand out from the rest. Proxies are usually okay, as long as it doesn't look like a regular troop. if they all pile in together the opponent should be able to tell them apart.
    Also a starseer is a fantastic unit. There is a huge difference . The rerolls, curse of fates is an amazing spell.

    Skinks x 10 (80)
    - Boltspitters & Star bucklers
    Skinks x 10 (80)
    - Boltspitters & Star bucklers
    Terradon Riders x 3 (140)
    - Starstrike Javelins

    Behemoths
    Stegadon (260)

    War Machines

    Batallions
    Shadowstrike Starhost (120)

    Total: 1000/1000

    Just my inital thoughts.

    Works better if You use 30 skinks.
