Captain Janeway doesn't like being called "sir," she prefers "ma'am." That's internalized misogyny.

I liked Janeway, there were quite a few fun episodes in Voyager. However, with Rey around, everyone else in Starfleet would instantly become obsolete. All they'd need is super Rey.

Sisko is my favorite Starfleet captain. Janeway is second and (TNG) Picard is a close third. I haven't watched more than a tiny fraction of the original series, but Kirk always seemed a bit reckless. He's usually moral at the end the day though.

I would say Sisko and Picard are as different from each other as possible while still being good captains. Baseball and hotdogs versus concertos and caviar. Sisko is deeply involved in his crew's personal lives and Picard maintains professional distance. Sisko loves kids and Picard is uncomfortable around them. Sisko is a natural warrior that can play the role of a diplomat when required. Picard is a natural diplomat that can play the role of a warrior when required.

Captain Janeway falls almost exactly between Sisko and Picard on almost everything. She is far more formal than Sisko and far more informal than Picard. I would say Janeway is a natural scientist/explorer who can play the role of a warrior or diplomat when required. I guess it fits because Voyager did not have a science officer, so when they needed to come up with a complex sounding solution that boils down to a simple metaphor, Janeway usually either comes up with the idea or comes up with the implementation of someone else's idea.

Fry: Usually on the show, they came up with a complicated plan, then explained it with a simple analogy.
Leela: Hmmm... If we can re-route engine power through the primary weapons and configure them to Melllvar's frequency, that should overload his electro-quantum structure.
Bender: Like putting too much air in a balloon!
Fry: Of course! It's all so simple!

I haven't watched Enterprise yet. It's one of those shows that I plan to watch but never get around to it. I will never watch STD or Picard unless it's a hate watch, and I'm not a big fan of hate watching.
