Recently had my folks over for dinner the other night, and my wife suggested I bring down some of my minis to show my Dad, who used to build model aeroplanes back when I was a kid. The phrase she actually used though, was "bring your poofters downsairs to show your Dad."

so subtle I almost missed it....

I have the same problem but my boyfriend really disapporves of warhammer. But after a hard day a work I couldn't really care what he thinks.

But he now has got along with the fact that I piant GW minitures, and what he thinks It dose not matter.

IT'S WHAT YOU THINK THAT MATTERS

My wife is ok with it for the most part. She occasionally drops comments about the car we could have bought with the money that I put into warhammer.

Very true, but think the car could be costing more a month to run than warhammer.

I got the statement last nite from the girlfriend, "yeah its all nice when you show me your painted minis and I'll say they look nice, but when I finish my nails and show them to you I want the same courtesy"
    Seems fair enough for me.

People I know sometimes ask me how I can "waste" so much money on warhammer. While they themself buy a knew cellphone/Iphone ever bloody time some new over priced Bullsh*it is released...
Or better upp, they get two, making pethetic excuses in a bid of convincing themselfs thats it's totally worth it.

My parents also give me remarks like "Do you know how much money you are putting in to this?" which I answear "Not half as much it would cost if I started drinking/smoking like all my freinds"

But remember: The only thing that differs a man from a boy is the price of his "toys"

My mum likes them, and always used to prefer me to be doing something away from a PC. Now its my money and she doesn't care what I do with it.

My gf actually started her own army, so no trouble there.

My parents are actually alarmingly supportive of my plastic crack problem. Girlfriends however, let's just say I haven't had much luck in that department as of late.

I open it and 24 skink shields fall out. She sighs :meh:

my fiance asked me to take a guess at how much my lizzies have cost me. i gave her my retail guess-timate followed by "but i got really good deals on most of it" :). still got a disapproving shake of the head. my reply: what about all those salt water fish you love to buy and subsequently kill off? I too am blessed,
you see? My Fiance has a 9 year old that loves to play army. They were shopping at a local MegaMall and guess who drug Mom by the arm into see the cool army men in the store?
Did I tell you I love my soon to be Step-son?

So, she buys him the HE archers and Clan rats for Xmas. Me? I felt the need to support my little Buddy, so I went back on my day off to discuss what things are needed. I walk out with a Battalion of LM. :)
I get home and she is very touched by my interest in sharing this new Hobby with her Son.

    I have been a plastic crack-head since December 2010.

Problems? None. I help my Step-son do his models before I get to work on mine - I am ok with that.

I told her about the 1st post of this thread - she answered "why would anyone down there loved one for what they want to do?"

I have the best Girl in the world my friends :)

    A Very Happy,
    Kaax Taat

Im lucky too, My better half is starting Tomb Kings when the new models come out *Im forcing her to wait*

She's pretty supportive too, she ohh's and ahh's at my painting and is trying to get interested in playing, but its a confusing game to watch haha :p Doesnt help shes a bit dim :3

Also she calls my Skinks, "Skanks" Which causes endless fun to my opponents if shes around

    *Playing Chaos the other day*

Me- "20 poisoned shots on your chosen"

Chaos player- "Get your skanky ass skanks out my face!"

Actually had to stop from laughter..

I was surprized by how interesting my girlfriend found Warhammer.

She loves the painting aspect of it and actually asked to paint some a few times :D

The games a bit confusing for her to wrap her head around lol but she's fully supportive of it. I'm so happy she's not as narrow minded toward it as most people are!

    Fanatic wargammer since 05 :)

Been a prack head since 1995, (plastic-crack=prack in my world :p)

    Peoples Opinions:

Dad's- stupid and a waste of money
Mum's- whatever makes you happy, and keeps you out of trouble
    Sisters- wierdo
Girlfriends- pointless game, always moaning when she enters the lounge only to find its been turned into a painting/modelling conveyer belt. not to mention whinging about spraying the models in the "ventilated" spare room.

Number of those opinions i care about= Sweet Fanny Adam, not one.

    Yours Aye
