Hahaha, thank you, I wish that was my tabletop standard. I spend a lot of time on characters, not so much on rank and file figures, which can be seen on my warriors. I haven't really figured out a good tabletop standard for my army, and that's taking a toll on my overall painting time because I tend to paint troops in a low standard only to look at them and say "you guys deserve better than that!" and then start evaluating and improving what was supposed to be a finished paint job Anyway, coming from you, the encouraging words mean a lot, thanks man!
Looks like I'm finally making some steady progress, here's a WIP picture of my chameleon skinks conversion: Sorry for the terrible background. As usual, C&C are welcome and encouraged!
Looks great! Have you worked out your spray primer woes? I recognized the gritty finish from far too many of my early models.
Thank you! It's PLASTEPSA's epoxy putty, it's made here in Mexico. I thought it didn't hold detail very well, but it turns out I just wasn't giving it enough time to partially cure. Boy this hobby sure has lots of things to learn!
Your chameleon conversions look very simple to make, I need to get some skinks and use a similar method sometime. I use clay most of the time, only problem is it gets brittle if it doesn't cure right. Also used resin. I also still like that oldblood with the shield, I like how you painted the glyphs green.
I've finally completed the chameleons' unit (well, technically two 5 man units), I'll post the whole unit tomorrow but here's a sample Can't wait to show you guys the whole unit, each skink has a different crest and unique pose, I'm glad my first conversions turned out so much better than I expected
It was taking me a long time to find a decent camera and setting for better pictures of my chameleons, so I got around to finishing my Oldblood instead. I tried my best to do some OSL out of the sunbolt gauntlet and a nebula effect on the blade of realities, what do you think?
Nicely done. although I think your Nebula could use some brighter blue patches to help it stand out a little more.
