Re: The Nexs-Files - [FINALLY Saurus Oldblood Pictures] Slann is ready for battle! Note palequin made from temple tiles and broken tiles on the base. I'm quite happy with the poison flower and jungle plants on the base Thoughts?
Re: The Nexs-Files - [Slann pictures are up!] Hi Guys, Time for the bastiladon! I've gotta put on a layer of shiny over the crystal. But other than that it's pretty well finished.
Re: The Nexs-Files - [Bastiladon - Solar Engine] Very nice, I like the calm, earth-like tones on both the Slann and the Batiladon. And the red markings on the armour are just magnificent addition, both idea and execution! Cool!
Re: The Nexs-Files - [Bastiladon - Solar Engine] I'm always curious to see how people paint the crystals for the solar engine. You did a great job fading the blue. And the red accents on the Bastilodon's armor are a great touch. Well done.
Re: The Nexs-Files - [Bastiladon - Solar Engine] Thanks for the comments guys, I have finished the bastiladon entirely now (including gloss varnish and pinning the pesky skinks down!). Also I'm almost ready to share my Kroq-Gar model with y'all. Quite happy so far!
Re: The Nexs-Files - [Bastiladon - Solar Engine] OK... Firstly, I'm back! Here's Kroq-Gar And Cold One Rider Champ (not finished yet!)
Re: The Nexs-Files - [Kroq-Gar & Cold One Rider Champ] Thanks mate! I've got a 3k tourney coming up in 3 weeks, so there will be plenty to show off soon......
Re: The Nexs-Files - [Kroq-Gar & Cold One Rider Champ] Pretty cool! Love the color scheme for the carnosaur and cold one!
Re: The Nexs-Files - [Kroq-Gar & Cold One Rider Champ] Thanks for that. I figure that the obnoxious coloured hides are for poisonous animals and the colours are a warning to others. So I decided to go with a general "jungle' colour.
Re: The Nexs-Files - [Kroq-Gar & Cold One Rider Champ] OK, a couple of new pics. My photography skills aren't amazing... WIP BSB on Cold One Saurus Spearmen w/out basing With basing - pretty much finished. A few touch ups to go
Re: The Nexs-Files - [Saurus Spears & BSB] Great looking unit of Saurus, and I really like your converted banner, where are the bits from I don't recognize a lot of them.
Re: The Nexs-Files - [Saurus Spears & BSB] Thanks mate! next step is to convert the cold one riders onto the dark elf cold ones! The kitbashed bsb totem was: Round bit - both were from the temple guard kit (I think!) top piece - carnosaur oldblood kit. I think it's supposed to be Kroq-Gar's piece but I didn't like it on the carno saddle
Re: The Nexs-Files - [Saurus Spears & BSB] I really like your bases. You've done a great job at making the units look dynamic and alive. I personally find bases to be very important, but also something that can easily be forgotten about by a lot. I'm still in the process of learning to do decent bases, so far it's been a hit and miss, but it's still better than nothing! Also your OB on the carno have a similar painted armour as mine :3
Re: The Nexs-Files - [Saurus Spears & BSB] Time for an update. But not of lizards. Here's the WIP Malekith i've been working on for a friend.
Re: The Nexs-Files - [Malekith The Witch King] I started some 40k so i could appease my mates. Here's the WIP Kabalite Warrior champ
Re: The Nexs-Files - [Malekith The Witch King] Hey everyone, here's a few pics of some of my army. Note the movement tray I made today from plasticard and extruded foam
Re: The Nexs-Files - [full army photos] OK, question time! Honestly, do you all think the palanquin made from temple's stone block works well, or should I opt for the GW palanquin?
Re: The Nexs-Files - [Need feedback re Slann] I think the palanquin you have works well. The paint job is really nice and it blends in well with the rest of the movement tray, and even with the lone Slann it looks good. It is definitely fit for a Slann! The only thing that seems out of proportion is the gray slab on which the Slann is sitting. It looks too small to me with his knees hanging over the edges.
Re: The Nexs-Files - [Need feedback re Slann] Thanks for your response. The only problem is that the slab the slann is sitting on is actually the old edition palanquin. I might be able to make some push moulds and see if they fit, but if it's unachievable, how bad would you say the problem is? Thanks
