Heliotwez stretched his long, bony fingers, clutching at his festering wound, from which blood trickled, gradually turning from a shining red to thick tar-like black as it rolled off his gut. This- He did not foresee this. The rotting demon before him gave one final gleeful shriek before its body was pierced upon a dozen jutting spears, its arms open as if to invite one into its embrace. The slann twitched a lip at the slight.

Still, the demon was right to celebrate, for Heliotwez could feel its infection seeping into him. Turning his flesh to ooze, his blood to tar. He couldn't help but painfully close his eyes, giving the slightest hint of a grunt. His seraphon, who had been hissing and roaring until now, paused, sensing their master's distress. A sole skink priest waddled up to him, eyes wide in shock. "Is it? Did it?"

No. No, no, no. This wouldn't be his end. The seraphon drew their power from the Outer Reaches. The celestial power, the wild magic, the stars. And above him, loomed the power of Ghyran and Hysh mixed, a sun shining so bright he could almost touch its magic. But with his body rotting faster and faster, his magic began to falter.

"Come." Rumbled the slann, opening his talon to the priest. The priest looked at it in awe, as if Sotek or Dracothian himself had offered it, and with a hesitant pause, the priest grasped his hand tight. Drawing on the power of the skink, Heliotwez grasped the light, channeling its purifying magic through himself. All went white.

It must've been days before he stirred again, judging by the sprouts that had begun to grow at the base of his pallaquin. Yet, that was not all that was different. Before him, stood his seraphon once again. However, the magic had not just purified Heliotwez's wounds, but had also infused the very essence of his followers. Their scales shone like Hysh itself, pale and glorious, while their eyes held the smouldering stare of a sunspot. It that moment, Heliotwez saw a thousand futures. And he saw them all in the sun.

    ---

Here is my blog for my silly sunny Seraphon dudes. Might as well kick it off with some skinks! I'm also working on Heliotwez, giving him a bit of green stuff work for his wounds.

Looking good so far, are you doing the scales a different colour?

    Nice backstory!

And the warpaint on the Skinks looks very cool.

Yeah, I'm doing them all with a white/sandy scale colour. I'm working on some greenstuff for my slann and some converted razordons, so I may post that later too.

Wrapping up on the razordon conversions. In retrospect they do still look a lot like gryph hounds and I wonder about fusing the tail+adding more spikes to it to make it more razordon-y, but that's for the future after I'm done with the rest of the painting. I'm also planning to base transfer them later, but I kinda want to play with them before that so I elected to simply leave them on for the immediate moment. I'm playing with a friend so it isn't really a big deal, especially given how some of our models are still on squares.

I think that if you want them to be seen as Razordons then they definitely need more spikes.

Really nice looking skinks, both the overall color and the warpaint! Definately have a great "desert" motif going on. And well based!
