Hello, some of you may have seen my blog where I've been busy converting and painting some terror birds. They are made from slaanehi seekers, and I've also made up a prototype rider for one. I'll have five once their finished. Problem is, how do I run them? I was originally going to run them as Saurus Knights, but they're too slow and bulky, and have the wrong synergy for a purely skink force. A second idea was to run them as Ripperdactyls. With the skink riders, snapping beaks and slashing claws they got descriptively. The 14" movement makes sense for the ostrich like mounts, but they are flightless so I was thinking of just removing the rules that allow them to fly. The third option is to run them without mounts, and write a totally new scroll and have them as herded war beasts that work with handlers like the salamanders and razordons. What are your thoughts? How would you run them? Thanks for your time folks.
Hmm... are the rules for slaanehi seekers any good ? otherwise I think rippers would be a good match.
Not checked them admittedly, I know they're suitable fast. Would have trouble with the key words and synergy with the rest of the army though :/ I'm leaning towards rippers myself, but still want to know what others think.
Ripperdactyl spawnlings Use the rules for Ripperdactyl riders but drop attacks with slashing claws to 2 but give the beak -1 rend Remove the swooping dive ability and the Fly rule and add a new one something like, Frenzied leap When a pack of Spawnlings is within 6" of an enemy unit it can declare a Frenzied leap, the spawnlings jump into the air and land on their foe with such force it stuns the enemy, clawing at them with their claws, roll 2 d*6 and on a score of 6+ the leap is successful, if successful add +1 to all hit rolls for Slashing claws (2+) Something like that maybe? ,
I love the idea of the leaping rule, I think ill go with that And I'll ping you a message shortly about the birds
