Blog Zebulon's Seraphon - Scar Veteran on Cold One WIP

So after a long distance love affair with Lizardmen, a few weeks ago I decided to start a Seraphon army. They were going to be my first Fantasy army over a decade ago, but time and Uni overtook all that.

Here is my Slann Starmaster, which I finished yesterday. It took 8 hours all together from start to finish. It is probably one of the better paint jobs I've done in a very long time, only thing I think that needs maybe re-working is perhaps the front of the throne and the tusks, I couldn't quite get the feathering right.



Sorry for the blurry pics, I don't have a light box at the moment. Next is to finish my first lot of Saurus Warriors and then my Old Blood on foot! Plenty to do! Haha

This looks awesome! I really like the greys contrasted with the green belly. Really looks sharp.

 

Great work. The grey skin on the slann works very well. Kudos on painting a unique looking palanquin, it's nice to see deviation from the standard grey stone palanquin motif.

Im thinking grey and green will carry across onto my Saurus and Skinks in various patterns, with red and white spot colours thrown in too for Cold Ones a bit Iike this

So I tackled my Skink Priest today, he's still WIP so far, reasonably pleased with him right now, still need to do his feathers, shoulder lizard and a few other bits and bobs including his base. The skins not as good as my Slann but I can live with it! Haha. Probably going to redo the loin cloth, parts of it doesn't seem to blend too well.
He came as part of a joblot I bought off eBay, he'd had his staff removed, so I added an extra from the Saurus Knights box which seemed to fit as a nice staff. Again sorry for the bad pics!

 

Looks really good! I think the cloth looks good, I don´t see why change it. Are you going to paint pupils or just leave him without them?

 

Well I was going to leave them, my Slann and Saurus both have just yellow eyes, but it feels like he'd suit pupils, so I'm not sure haha

 

I like that Jurassic Park color scheme, that should look fantastic on your saurus when the are finished, considering how your skink and slann are turning out. Well done!

 

This one looks incredible! Really like how the colours work together. Very eye catching model.

 

So today (my weekly concentrate and paint day haha) I'm going to finish my Skink Priest! Then I intend to start on these chaps (rider first to try out my cold one scheme).

 

So it's all finished, except for some texture on the base and the sandstone rock he's stood on! Very pleased with him, the skulls and feathers on his staff particularly!
