So I got this game for the PC recently, and although it's from a couple years ago, I am amazed by how much fun I'm having playing it. And the best part is that I can make my character a lizardman! Has anyone else here played it?

I played III; Morrowind and absolutely hated it. So needless to say when Oblivion came out I wasn't that excited. Everyone who plays it says its really good so maybe I would enjoy it, but I have never got around to giving it a go yet. It looks like a very long and involved game anyway, my attention span when it comes to games ain't what it used to be. :P

That game is incredible. The assassins and thieves guild are insanely fun (assassins is a bit hard to join, I think you have to murder someone for no apparent reason and then they visit you in your sleep - it is by far the most fun guild though). One trick I liked was buying the best hat and then enchanting it so that it burnt/iced/lightninged the wearer. If you pickpocket it into someones pocket when they wake up they're surprised by their nice new hat and try it on, only to run around screaming and die. It's a good way of killing people without it being a crime (unless caught pickpocketing).
The game is a bit easy to break later on - it's easy to make a set of armour that makes you 100% invisible. I even found a couple of very rare items (random drops) as well as some standard quest items that allowed me 100% reflect damage and 100% spell absorption - I couldn't be killed in combat, they kill themselves and if they magic me I take no damage and they fill my mana!

Have to say that i really loved Morrowind. i liked the entire game with all the various quests, the exploring and the cool races. Sure, it had some downsides as well, but generally I consider it one of the best single player computer rpgs I've played. I've never tried out oblivion, most of my friends back here didn't really like it so I never actually felt like testing it myself ^^

It's like morrowind but with a blessed travel system and slightly more convenient leveling. Not to mention gorgeous graphics.

I'm really loving the "argonian" (lizard) race, I can breathe water... which was very helpful when this undercover necromancer tried to drown me in a well...

And any of those NPCs I catch calling me "pondscum" don't wake up in the morning :evil2:

One fun thing I have found is there is a unicorn guarded by some minotaurs, and as long as you aren't holding any weapons you can ride it (very fast! and it can fight too). It attacks anyone who is holding weapons in their hands, so I have to rely on magic to fight around it, but this is no biggie because magic is good. My armor takes a pounding though because I cant block all too well without a weapon/shield... :geek:

I had a ring that gave permanent water breathing and one that gave night vision. Things like that are really handy. Plus a set of items bound with increasing strength so you can carry more.

Yeah, whenever I'm planning on robbing somebody's house I put on my bound "feather shoes" (that I stole from a guy selling scrolls) which allow me to carry more loot!

I remember my Argonians from morrowind. The only complaint I had was that they couldn't use shoes or boots, meaning less magic items :P
But the imunity from poison and waterbreathing made up for that :)

Aha, well in Oblivion they can wear footgear same as anyone else, and the argonian 75% disease resistance is quite nice, I've only gotten sick once (swamp fever from a mudcrab lol)

I'm really having fun with the alchemy stuff too, my self-made potions are generally worth pretty good money (also helps that there's tons of free ingredients in the mages guild halls)
