So I have been running a Slann w/ all the signatures, reroll dispel, +2 channel dice on 5-6, and reservoir along with Tetto'Eko and a skink priest scroll caddy. The channeling dice and reservoir are important because you need as many power dice as you can get your hands on. Tetto lets you reroll ones (allowing skinks to use 2 dice and slann to 1 die a lot of spells) and vanguard your slow temple guard.

My poor opponents don't know what to dispel. I only use 2 dice for each ice shard, so that is 5-6 dice, then whatever is left gives me 1 die for fireball, Shem's Burning, Miasma, or earthblood.

The thing is, lizardmen have crappy weapon skill, so giving the opponents -1 to hit and leadership is wonderful when my Slann has a shrieking blade and my cohort have kroxigors. Needing 6's to hit skinks and temple guard really ruins the enemy's day, and if by some miracle they fail the fear check, your lizards might actually hit something.

In four games I have only gotten spirit leech off once and it did 2 wounds, but didn't kill the model. I still have hopes for that part of the combo (blizzard 3 times, then blast em with that 10 Ld spirit leech)

With my Slann running the skavenpelt banner and ironcurse, along with all that stuff mentioned above, the wizards of the army take up over 800 points, but I have not lost since I started running these in my lists.

That is indeed a nice combo to run with. In ETC that is quite hardly comped, as tetto if frikking 3 comp points and slann is 1 comp point.. and you can only have max 5 comp points. What do you usually run along with that list. TG?

also Spirit Leech states "unmodified leadership" .. so blizzard x3 and the leadership banner does not have an effect regarding spirit leech. With Slann, its always the Ld 10.

I thought unmodified meant modified because of a dumb FAQ they put out. For unmodified you can use the generals modified leadership or something.

    As for the list:
    Slann
    Tetto
    Skink priest
    Scar vet cowboy
    Skink cohort with 3-4 kroxigor's
    2-3 skink skirmishers
    Temple guard
(5 FC Cold one cavalry in 2500 pt games)

We don't do comp points. I'm guessing this is an overpowered combo that others discovered long ago. Oh well.

I applaud your thought process, but I am somewhat confused. The major selling point is
and that you can one or two dice spells.

I do not see why a WD Slann with the Book of Ashur cannot also two dice cast many spells. I don't see what makes repetitive Ice Shard Blizzard casting so special.

Book of Ashur gives +1, a lvl 4 caster does not need +1 for 7, but rerolling 1's means failing on 8/36 instead of 12/36.

    As for blizzard:
In CC, -2 to hit means hitting on 5's instead of 3's. -2 leadership means failing on 8 instead of 10 on fear checks and when the stubborn enemy fails combat. Huge benefits, far greater IMO than any buffs except light for our army.

But it is also useful for putting down ranged units and canons.

Honestly, I can't think of better spells for our army (ignoring light)

I thought you couldn't cast the same spell more then once per caster? Did I miss something or is it an End Times rule?

Both the WD Slann and Tetto have Iceshard Blizzard, so in a regular (non End Times) game, they could both cast the spell on the unit. If you are using the End Times rules, then you can keep casting the same spell over and over (provided the casting value isn't 15+ or greater).

@NIGHTBRINGER In the original post it said "cast it 3 times" I see now that there was also a Priest. But thanks for the clarification!

Had a 2500 uncomped game against Woc with WD Channel Slann, Tetto and lvl1 scroll heavens caddy. Man, 3x Iceshard Blizzard is Golden. Also Daemon Princes arent too fond of Boosted Shems either.

(Edit: i mean WOC, not DOC)

Wow, that's a lot of points dedicated to magic. How much did your 3 spellcasters cost?

    Thats 675 points total.
In that game i shemmed a daemon prince, searing doomed a lvl2 disc caster, searing doomed a 400 point cavalry unit. So the magic had its use. Tetto was in the game just to give my 3 oldblood + co unit a vanguard push

That's a pretty interesting character heavy list. How did it fare?

That's impressive, especially since WoC are typically considered to be a very tough match up for us. Which units did you find to be most difficult to deal with and which ones were the easiest to deal with?

I was relieved there were no hellcannons.
The unkillable lord is always a pain in the butt. First game it was overrun by co bus combat res when the aod, dawnstone ob took the challenge and had a pillow fight.
Second time the piranhablade fellow got lucky, got a wound through and rolled a six. So three wounds and it was dead yay.
Its also difficult if theres alot of chariots and other stuff to challenge skink redirecting.
Dp was eventually easy to deal with. A couple of Boosted shemms did the trick.

I LOVE Hellcannons. I own three of them... all metal!
The DP is a solid choice, but he can definitely be taken down. I prefer the unkillable stubborn disc riding lord myself; the guy can take on just about anything. He is usually accompanied by a second 3+ ward disc riding character (either my BSB or my level 4).
