Attempting once more to bring in a contest that is not a short story contest using the basic format created by @SlanntaClause long long ago. The Theme There is none. Choose whatever theme you like so long as it is related to Lizardmen, Seraphon, Salamanders or Saurian Ancients. The Rules There are none. (Apart from the following)(So in actual fact there are some rules, I lied to you, I am sorry) -Keep your poem to an artistic minimum. Word count wont be stressed about too much in here. -Keep it anonymous. Don't use your own name in the story or use someone else's name throw them off the scent -Keep Lizardmen in the story or some aspect of their world / lore. -Keep visuals and images to a minimum or none at all this is a poetry competition. -Keep em coming, you may enter as many times as you wish. Last contest Bowser wrote quite a few. -Multiple entries are allowed from the same person! The winner will be decided by public vote at the end of the deadline - March 20th 2019, the Spring Equinox because it's a winter contest and Winter will be over then. Yes, I am a nerd. Send your entries to me me, Scalenex by midnight US Central time on March 20th 2019.
I got a submission in less than twelve hours. I do not believe that has ever happened before. Keep them coming everyone! Also if you want to edit or add to an earlier poem, you are free to revise a submission as often as you want as long as it's clear what the final draft is.
No one is a poet, but don't let that stop you. We have a bought a month left and only two entries (though two entries is enough for a contest)
The short story contests appear like clockwork every three months. Other contests are more or less random though I am experimenting with syncing them with the Solstices and the Equinoxes.
I know it's intimidating putting your poetry up against Infinity Turtle's teen angst but we had a steady stream of submissions and then it suddenly stopped. Get on it!
Roses are red I like bamboo Buy my cheese Or I'll come after you There was a a great Skink zombie He asked you to write poetry "Why take out my writing pad?" If not the panda be mad That's something we don't want to see.
We still have a little over 16 hours until the submission deadline, so yes, it is still going. I could have made the submission deadline 4:58 PM when Spring technically begins in my location but I opted for midnight being the deadline per tradition. We got five entries which is respectable. I'm hoping for a few last minute entries. If someone needs a little extra time for a last minute entry I can extend the deadline another 12 or 24 hours. I will probably be asleep at the deadline so the posting of the contest may be a bit delayed. The April-May Short Story Contest entry period will begin probably a day or two after I post the voting thread for the Poetry Contest. I want to get the contest up BEFORE April 1st so no one thinks I'm joking about the entry theme.
