Different poses is doable, as for the quality I’m ok at it, not fantastic. I was thinking around this level of detail
Wow, this thread is awesome I wish I saw it sooner. Yeah, Dragons were hunted/fought off the continent by both Dreadsurians and Carnosaurs, More than just direct fighting the other preditors were just more adapted to hunt and out-compete the dragons, forcing them to leave thier territories/territories are reduced resulting in them not having enough food ect. Not really sure how this would work, considering the fact Dragons can fly... In my mind, there are still dragons on the content but both in hibernation and on islands or high peaks where they can still access enough food without competition. As well as this it would be pretty epic if there were smaller species that still remained on the content, and over the thousands and thousands of years, they sort of evolved to become more independent and more like Wyvernn's or something. Or maybe some dino's could have filled the niche dragons once did, evolving to become sort of like the flyer's out of Avatar (These particular creatures are just so cool In my mind they deserve a place in Lustria)
"Maybe, Cold ones of Lustria resemble Abeliasaurids to me. With the claw structure and skull. Razordon I actually don't think are traditionally dinosaurs at all, more another branch of Arcosaurs from the Crocodillians. Kinda like Kaprosuchus maybe" Yeah, I agree. Razordons look like they could have evolved from a Kaprosuchus like ancestor, This combined with the fact they are plentiful within swampy regions and tidal basins makes alot of sense.
Reading you guy's quotes I agree that would suit the Troglodon very well. Stealth isn't going to be a factor given its size and the fact they live within the huge stretching cave systems that crisscross the entire continent. Given the fact naturally occurring terrestrial bioluminescence is so rare I would Imagine the troglodon gaining it through its diet as a bioproduct or something, Perhaps they eat tones of deep underground plants/fungi that glow, or loads of bioluminescent worms ect. Maybe the bioluminescence is in fact a product of a parasite or something living on/in the troglodon? I imagine that trolgodons feel the world through vibrations whilst also being able to taste the air and scents with an incredibly good sense of smell as well as hearing. It would also be cool if they could indeed sense heat ect
That would be quite interesting, having some kind of parasite infect Troglodon that live in these systems, making them lose sight and gain bioluminescence. And they way I see it, the tongue piece you can put on instead if the acid spit piece (tongue gang) works like a snakes, able to sense heat. Only problem is that were dealing with cold blooded creatures. Wouldn't be the most effective. But it definetly has amazing hearing and smell
Objection! Troglodons and most other large lustrian dinosaurs are probably endothermic. Simply put to get to such a size in and reasonable time (under 50 years) requires rapid growth only sustainable by warm blood. In fact theropods like T. rex and Allosaurus would have to have been endothermic just because the time it took them to get to full size. using T. Rex as an example, during the height of its growth it would put on 5 pounds a day. No ectotherm can do that. This means that the big Dinos of Lustria probably are endothermic, and much more active than described
You're right, it's been awhile since I've gone full Paleontologist XD In that case itd be quite effective on certain Dinosaurs if not most
Inwas going to also say that everything living gives off some sort of heat signature, Troglodons quite possibly have an enhanced heat tracking system due to their loss of sight. So even if some creatures are cold blooded (such as camien which I'm sure lurk in the swamps or snakes) once it's close enough (which is where the glow would come in) it wouldnt matter Just my 2 cents
Quite true, makes me wonder what other kinds of creatures dwell in the underways of Lustria. Main food source etc (Edit autocorrect hates me)
I'm pretty sure it isn't the tongue a snake uses to detect heat, and instead uses the small holes it has above its mouth.
I'll have to look at the model. But I feel it does have those, and if the model doesnt I do see them having that same mechanic. Good catch
It really is, but also awesome, will make for great story telling in personal fluff and hopefully official fluff
Here are the razordons, just a sketch https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/506545314107228166/692180347881783366/image0.jpg
Those are awesome! I think in a lot of ways razordons are probably among the scariest of the beasts. The thought of being skewered and then eaten alive somehow sounds worse to me than even a salamander death
