Thanks man! Still thinking on the lore a bit, but i definitely like the idea of an ancient foe that's locked away. Gives a good possible story arc possibilities for sure I think. Ive been wanting to dive into the Hathorians, specifically Haset’s, history a bit. So this could be an interesting start to that and highlighting an ancient War/Fued. Lol it is slightly off, but I agree, I think once the fur is added it'll look a bit more natural. Using this picture as one source of inspiration: My guy will also have hooves, I simply don't feel like making the proper feet lol It is really big lol
Thank you! I have no idea what that us but sounds amazing! I was attempting to tap into the Hindu inspired side of the Hathorians and going for an Elephant vibe, and here we are lol Someone said it reminded them if a Loxodon
Haha! First time for everything! I don't think I have either actually now that I think about it... Snap
Another update, this time with Milliput work! Adding to the elephant/Mastadon/Mammoth look I went ahead and crafted my first ever trunk, I think it looks pretty good! He is armed pretty well, having his giant axe, shield, chain and stone thing (what would the name be for this?), and a single shot crossbow attached to this arm. All in all I think he's going to bring some pain! Still WIP, a few addons to add still, but pretty happy so far with it Any C&C welcome!
That is a great inspiration picture. I love the look you are going at. The Bolas with hammers is an amazing weapon. It will swing somewhat when moving the model around though Grrr, Imrahil
Here ya go, it's the Skorne faction from the game Warmachine/Hordes. Maybe you could find some bits you'd like!
Oooh! I was kinda thinking of putting a flag on his back but i couldn't decide. I might look into that as I have a few spare standards with blank spaces i could do a freehand thing on Very cool indeed, would hate to go up against one of those You could actually make one of those using a Bastiladon head instead of the ones I have one it, then adding a lot of armor. Could look pretty cool honestly. Im debating fattening up my boy a bit, but i think the added fur should add enough to fill him out some? Hmmm...
....... it just dawned on me, HE NEEDS ELEPHANT EARS OMGGGGGGG Yes, I forgot his ears, get it together Suds, get it together! Im over here looking at him, just like... "what are you missing?... ok yes, lets add maybe some side fabric maybe, but thats not it...what...YOU DONT HAVE EARS" So, yes, time to craft some ears. Im a little annoyed with myself however lol I wish I would have realized this sooner as i could have used the left over milliput for exactly this instead of rocks lol as i couldn't think if a different use
Link to video of the Big 3 for my Hathorians, a 4th and final monster will probably come in the way of that vulture though lol Haset, Mountain Shrine & Unnamed (without his ears....) *Warning, plays music and has one swear word, discretion advised around children or whomever* https://www.instagram.com/reel/CRkgJN4n-jq/?utm_medium=copy_link
Thanks! Attempt #4 came out even better I think though! I also love the decorations lol he feels naked without them haha
And here is attempt #4 + the inspiration picture. I think I've captured the charging/threat display ears pretty well! Next step is to get some greenstuff + get back to painting my lord regent On a seperate note, my preorder (from April!!) from Para Bellum Wargames finally arrived! My W'adrhŭn raptors + a few heroes join my tribe. Won't be painting these for awhile though, might build one box of raptors at some point; they truly are gorgeous models. Yes, those are my naked feet. Hope everyone is doing well!
Those ears look even better, Great work. Very much Elephant like. Not sure how they match with fur though. Grrr, Imrahil
Hahaha! It is! Didn't even realize Thank you! They do definitely look much better, and survived the night! They have good detail i think, hope they look ok painted And, yeah, I do wonder that myself. I think it will be hard in some ways to differentiate the two, since we see first with tradtional eyes. However, in a fantasy world where I'm already having an elephant like being having hooves, i think the fur might actually help merge the two. But yes, I do wonder about the fur and if i should try to craft actual elephant feet
Is it a possibility to add the fur and then decide if the hooves work, and change it if needed? Or do you need to do them before the fur? Grrr, Imrahil
Yeah, I could do that and was kinda thinking the same, do fur and then see how I feel about it. I can always add some blending fur to bring the elephant feet (if neede) in. I'm also wondering how fur is going to look with elephant ears, given elephants don't have fur lol. Ah well, mad scientist time never sleeps!
