    Hi All!

I've recently been working on my Lizardmen, but recently they've really boomed, so I decided to show off some of my reptilian creations!

I've gone for a slightly unorthodox scheme; Black (or very, very dark grey) skin on my Saurus/Skinks/etc., with bright green spines down their backs. Despite their seemingly dull sounding appearance, they really do stand out as they are so different from anything else. Also, in a moment of weirdness, I decided to add a bright orange highlight to the spines, and I must say I think it went rather well, making them stand out even more.

The equipment wielded by the troops (most notably the shields, but also some armour and weapons) has been done in red. This helps them to tie in with the monsters of the force. There is also plenty of gold littered in amongst the ranks, as you would expect from an 'Aztec' culture.

All the monsters/creatures have been done in a dark(ish) green with their respective red detailing. Not only does the red help them tie in with the rest of the horde, all the monsters are ridden my my signature dark skinned lizards helping tie them in further.

Worth noting are the 'Ripperdactyls' who are actually a mash of the pieces in the kit. I've used the Terradon heads and legs, but the Ripperdactyls tails and claws. I just preferred those pieces more. I don't buy into the strictness of WYSIWYG but try to honour it where I can. Also, there are the Cold One Cavalry (COC) who are built using the COC riders with the Dark Elf Cold Ones as mounts. Again, I just preferred the models.

So without further ado, I present the images you've been waiting for! (Sorry in advance for the poor quality, I only have a camera phone to work with!)

With any luck, soon I'll be upgrading these guys to a 40-lizard strong unit.

I aim to get a Kroxigor in each of these cohorts to complete them.

These Skirmishers will normally be used as Chameleons, I just prefer these models.

I hope you enjoyed them (I did, but I'm bias...!) Hopefully I'll be able to get some more updates out in the near future. I've got two Salamanders ready to roll off the press, and two Cowboys are in progress. I've already talked about my aim for some Kroxigor, and then I'm aiming to get some Temple Guard, a Slann, and (everyone's favourite!) a stegadon. After that I should be able to get this lot into the 'Completed Army' forum!

Please post all comments and critique (it's all welcome!)

I love that contrast on the skinks and saurus, keep at it!

I like the dark color scheme a lot. One suggestion though. You should base your models as soon as you can. A dark color scheme combined with a black base visually seems to make the models blend in with the base and that draws the eye away from your good paint job.

Cheers guys, thanks for the love!!

I did think that about the photos actually. The bases are in fact a (reasonably) darkish marshy colour green. It looks a lot better in person I assure you. Thanks for the tip though!

+1 about the basing comment. That will really help show off your models even more.

I absolutely love the solar engine. It just looks terrific. I'm also really taken with your terradon/ripperdactyl wings. How did you get that vein-y effect? I just picked up my first box of rippers, so I'm figuring out how I want to paint them.

    Keep up the good work!

I'm glad you like them! It's literally just brown wash followed by a few drybrushes getting lighter and lighter - red through to orange.

    So many blurry pictures...

But what I can see, I really like! The rippers are one of the best ones I have seen, I love the green and red combination! I'm trying really hard to decide a colour scheme for my rippers, you gave me something to think about... Also, the Bastiladon is terrific! Keep up the good work!
