Hey guys, I just need a little clarification on what happens when a stegadon gets hit with a template weapon. How does randomisation work in this case? Also, if the centre of the template is on the stagadon base, is it hit automatically or does the oppoent still need to roll since not all the base would be covered? And what if a template (in cluding a flame template) partially hits only a front corner of the steg, what happens?
on a 1-4 steggie is hit, 5 is crew, 6 is crew or the character ( if had one). centre is hit. see rulebook. then randomize where the centre lands. on a 4+ you hit the modfel, then randomize who you hit.
So in no way can a template weapon hit more than 1 'part' of the model? (example, you can't hit the steg, priest and a couple of crewskinks with a flame template?)
Actually thats not quite right. See page 60-61 of the BRB under shooting at monstrous mounts, the last paragraph says that if a template weapon hits a ridden monster than all parts of the model are hit, both rider and monster. So templates are quite deadly against the steg.
Ok, so in the case that a steg is partially hit by a flame template, your opponent rolls a die and on a 4+ he hits all the parts of the steg? Or does he roll individually for each part? This arose in a friendly game with my brother where his gyrocopter's steam gun hit the front corner of my steg base. I was at a loss as to whether he could actually cause a hit on all parts of the model.
I'm fairly sure in the page I quoted it said that for partial hits, you roll a d6 for each part of the model... Remember the character is seperate to the crew I believe.
