Basicaly my friend is sick of loosing all the time so he is starting demons of chaos and he has skull eater and im going to be absolutly massacred, so can u kind people help me with my list so i can purge the jungles of lustria from the chaos taint. Saurus scar veteran Cold one Light armour Scimitar of the sun 170 Skink priest Engine of the gods 355 Saurus warriors x 15 Saurus warriors x 15 Cold ones x 5 total 1030 basically im 30 points over, and i dont no what to take out, the stegadon and cold ones will be the shock troops taking out his skull eater on juggernaut thing, and then once they have done that going on to clean up the rest of the field. The match is tomorrow btw, so quick help would be greatly appreciated, u will get + 1 internet.
You nearly have no equipment, no commando, musican or standard bearers... makes it hard to get points down to 1000. You can kick out some Saurus and play them 4x3.
Cold One Riders are ONLY decent, key word being decent, when they get the charge. You need more troops, maybe a small skink/Kroxigor unit to replace the Riders, or maybe just kroxigors. That herald of Khorne is nasty, but he can be stopped. Then again, my Cold One Riders held up a Bloodthirster for 3 turns, but that was only because I kept challenging him for 2, lol. Anyways, morale of the story is to aim for the flanks! AND DON'T LET YOU ENGINE BE CHARGED!!! Heralds of Khorne eat Engines for breakfast if they manage to catch him, keep it behind a wall of Saurus or something. If the Stegadon CAN charge the bastard, you probably shouldn't, because even with Str 6 he gets a 4+ armor and 5+ ward, and remember although the Engine is mighty against Daemons, the range is unpredictable and so are the hits, pray you have good dice. Stay from his units with the Engine, the Priest AND the Stegadon cannot handle very much damage, unless you're fighting Slaanesh or Tzeentch units, which is unlikely. Also, consider taking the Burning Blade of Chotec and Glpyh necklace on your Scar-vet, he'll actually be able to kill the Herald cause you'll hit on 4's regardless and probably wound on 2's or 3's, and with the Burning blade you smack him up to a 5+ Armor and 5+ Ward, but the Burning Blade is CRUCIAL because if he tags along a Herald of Nurgle with some Plaguebearers, your Scar-Vet will negate his Regen save and probably kill him if you can get past the ward save, which hopefully you shall. That wil make his Nurgle units not very scary, but without the Burning Blade that damn jerk will give the entire unit Regen, which is extremely hard to defeat. Anyways, best of luck pal, kick some ass and pray to the Dice Gods.
thanx for quick replies guys +1 internets all round, also i think ill do exactly what you say dalkarius.
4x3 saurus is a terrible idea cause you need 5 wide to get rank bonus, 6x2 is solid though as that is 24 attacks (presuming you're going spear which i'd advise)
