Hello, showing off my works on my lizardsmen army. Grew up with warhammer but just recently started to craft again and started with Lizardmen because.. well Dinos duh hah. However I was low on colors when I started, mainly had red, brown, grey, green, silver and white. Once I got more tools and paint I stuck with my color scheme. I dont play warhammer table top however, never got into that so. So how units works etc isn't something have gone by. I like to make up my own stuff with the bitz I got and some month ago I started to plan a D&D campaign with my Lizardmen because if there's anything I like more than crafting it's roleplay and storytelling. But enough of that, my army is slowly getting bigger and why I picked Red as the skin/scale color was because it looked better than green, plus green is rather mainstream for reptiles haha. Anyways, my mobile camera is shit so there's no HQ pics.. Will update along the line. Here you go: Spoiler: Main army group Planning on buying some of the Dark Eldar version of the Cold Ones because they are way cooler so will do some elite riders when I have that. Unless GW happens to give us some nice upgrade on the current ones because I think we all can agree the current ones look like a pack of velocitards compared to the Dark Eldar's current ones. Spoiler: Some riders. Instead of temple guards, I tried to make each temple guard into "Champions" for the D&D I'm planning. Spoiler: Champions and Skinks This is the figure I'm most pleased with to be honest, It's the Skink that's meant to be for the Troglodon but I hate to have figures go to waste and do what I can to make it into something so made this Skink Champion. Clearly stronger than he looks haha. Spoiler: Skinks next to Skink Priest and Skink Champion
Cheers guys I got a stegadon aswell but I didnt get any good pictures of it sadly. Will try get one someday! My latest ideas are to try convert a Dark Eldar Sslyth into the army somehow: Spoiler While I was at it I looked around for similar miniatures to use because I dont have the skills to use green stuff etc. But after some searching I found these I will try to use parts of these to make something: Spoiler
Here: http://mierce-miniatures.com/index.php?act=cat&cre=dkl-kth&sou=cat Not the cheapest bunch but pretty cool miniatures.
While waiting for some stuff to arrive in the mail I have started making some to-be rocks for my table: Spoiler: Large Rocks made out of paper
Made a little cave entrance and two high rocks that I will make into Terradon/Ripperdactyl nests. Spoiler: New pictures Just waiting for these to dry up then cut them out, put them on a base and then I shall start to paint them. Been meaning to do buildings but not gotten to that level of awesome yet.
This army looks great! The Temple Guard look brilliant, as does your Skink Chief. I've used the Sslyth as a Oldblood myself and while it looks great as its a really nice model with that D&D/Conan the Adventurer snake man look, I was quite surprised by how small it was compared to the Saurus, so I placed him on a rock to give him a bit of height. Heres what he looks like if you're interested. Continuing the snake theme, I did have plans to convert Tomb Kings Necropolis Knights into Kroxigors, but I haven't got round to it yet.
Since it's holiday here in Sweden I didnt get any mail yesterday so got to way until next week for my figures and extra paint. Meanwhile I have been using what I got, for example.. Pringle can makes a good tall stone "pillar" or a large dead tree.. Unsure what to go for but we shall see once I get going with painting etc.. Spoiler: WIP Other than this, me and my father is making a new table for my crafting which should be up next week aswell. Got my battle mat ready, hopefully I will get all my other stuff I have ordered in time for the table. Will update as soon as I get more to show.
Been working on some of the figures that the players will be able to pick for my D&D campaign. Some of the rock formations were standing to get dry, hence some look glossy. These are not Warhammer miniatures however, these are from the table top game "Hordes" - Why you may ask? They looked good and they were cheaper to get when it comes to "solo" figures. Warhammer Lords & Heroes went for twice as much as one of these. Anyways, made some minor changes to them so far however.. The man with the double crossbow, I removed his sword and changed it to a sword from Chaos Beastmen to make him seem more.. brutal. Spoiler: Player Characters Spoiler: Campaign Characters WIP My camera is still shit I'm afraid.
My father and I just finished up with my new crafting table: Spoiler: table and stuff Sorting out some fake grass I bought. Way cheaper them actual warhammer/hobby terrain grass. Quick put up my good old Chaos Warriors. I dont have my Lizardmen army at home yet, will bring it home tomorrow hopefully.
Thanks The will of the Old ones was with me today, managed to bring my army back home! Spoiler: Army setup
Lol, I did practically the same thing with the Hordes double crossbow guy! I use him as a Witch Hunter in my Empire army. I used the sword from the Empire Wizards kit.
Awesome Lizardmen force! The witch hunter is impressive too... but not as cool as the Lizzies of course.
So I finally got my paint in the mail today so started to paint my terrain bases I made. Then put some flock onto some of them, will add the plants either later tonight or tomorrow atleast depending how everything has dried etc. Spoiler: WIP terrain Sidenote, my Sslyth order has been delayed so might have to wait another week or two for it to arrive. Bit of a bummer.
