I'd get it if I was in your position. I love a lot of the old 5th ed Lizardmen models and a Steg is one I'm still lacking.

I have grabbed two now and if that is usd that is a very reasonable price. One of mine was $50 us including shipping, so about the same.

I googled this model and it shows a variety of versions of the Stegadon - for my own knowledge which one is the 8th Ed can you show a picture?

This guy is the 5th edition Steggy:

The plastic kit was (late 6th?) 7th, 8th edition. Here it is based for Age of Skirmish:

I got both of these out of the Itza Gallery of Fine Arts right here on LO — I recommend a look.

N.B.: Neither of these Stegs have the 'stock' howdah. Each has been customized in various ways.

Does anyone else find it weird that the Stegadon bares striking resemblances to a triceratops and not a stegosaurus?

I always found that funny. I guess that's what makes it GW's IP. ;)

It is a fabricated, fantasy, dinosaur. It is fabulous (in the medieval sense — as in the phrase: "fabulous beasts").

It combines the "thagomizer" tail of a stegosaurus, with the armoured back of an ankylosaurus, plus the head, horns, and frill of a ceratopsian (Triceratops, Pentaceratops, Styracosaurus, et.al.).

Try it: "Stegadon bears striking resemblances to [both] a triceratops and not a stegosaurus..." <= like that.

@pendrake you make a convincing argument but the tail is hardly the distinguishing feature of the Stegosaurus - however
I concede you are right a mixed fantasy dinosaur he/she/they all are P

I didn't mean to say the tail was :cyclops: . Agreed.

I was just saying that it is the single feature GW lifted from that Dino to create Stegodon.

Oh sorry @pendrake I didn't mean to imply you were it's more the name implies it will be mostly looking like a stegosaurus based on our culture :) but you evaluated it perfectly - I didn't even see the tail resemblance till you pointed it out :)

They did kinda name it after the littlest feature. I wonder if its very first set of Special Rules had something about it getting extra attacks if anything was dumb enough to charge it from behind.
