    The priest's cloak looks good, but at first glance I thought he was a lizardmen wearing a cloak made out of lizardmen skin...

    Not that this didn't happen sometimes in the ancient world, but I don't think this is what you were going for. Maybe a green-tinged cloak? I still really like it (your painting skills are truly glorious :artist::vulcan::cool:) but to me it matches the skin color of your impeccable skink priest too closely.

    Thank you for your replies guys! :)

    @tom ndege
    Haha, will add these to my collection of emoticons ;)

    @ravagekitte @Aginor @NIGHTBRINGER
    Thank you! :) Glad you like them. Will post the second one in a few days, hopefully!

    @Warden
    Yes, you are definitely right. But the main idea behind this blue color of his cloak is that it represents the lore of magic of this particular priest - Heaven, to be exact. So I don't want to change the color, but maybe try to change brightness or saturation of it. Sadly, other color would not match the initial idea.

    @SlanntaClause
    Thank you :) still, I think I might change it somehow. Just don't know how yet.

    man each time I look at your work makes me hate the crappy GS work I did on my primal guards...I still have a few more not primed I need to put more effort into them.

    Imo the skin tone is a tealy green blue like a nice faint mixture and the cloak is more a summers day sky blue so they are different noticbly and the blue compliments the jade necklace if you do change it I'd stick with a light colour to keep that theme consistent

    This is such a great log, I love these kind of full out conversion paint logs so extremely inspiring and yours is a especially good one you really gives life to the otherwise kind of robotic lizardmen.
    Great work!

    @Bracnos
    I saw your primal guards a while back, wouldn't say they are crappy.
    Still, I too always try to put as much effort as I can into my miniatures. This seems to be the best approach ;)

    @SlanntaClause
    Yes, I see your point. Maybe I'll try to repaint it into more of a grey-white-ish color with some lines remaining sky-blue. Gotta think about that a bit more though. Time for some brainstorming! :D

    @Essmir
    Thank you! Well, as the saurus were designed and engineered by the Old Ones for the one and only task - to wage war - it kinda makes sense that lizardmen may look kind of robotic, as you put it. But I wanted to give mine a bit more personalized approach, so that every miniature look like an individual to some degree.

    So, here's my second skink-priest done:
    [IMG]

    [IMG]

    This one took a little less time and effort, since I got all the basics covered with the first one (I'm looking at you, greens gems >_>). The most tricky part was the sphere in his hands, and with that I feel like I failed it and I need to repaint it. It doesn't look like jade like I intended, and the lighting effect around his fingers looks messed up.
    Otherwise, I would say I'm pretty happy with how the other things turned out in the end. Now I'm going for the oldblood.

    Excellent detailing, I love the wood and your claws are very crisp, I can see what you mean about the lighting effects on the sphere, I just think you need a darker centre to bring out the effect more.

    I have to say that we are truely blessed on this forum to have such talented people.

    The only thing I don't like that much are the base (it looks too small for the character, but I understand you are probably aiming for compatibility with a system that enforces a 25mm square base for that model).
    The staff with the Snake looks a bit goofy bit nice.

    Really great model.

    @ravagekitteh
    Thank you! But there's always some room for improvement ;) yet I'm not absolutelu satisfied with the model, so I might change a few things in the future.

    @Crowsfoot
    Thanks! Well I'm thinking about repainting the sphere in his hands into black or purple one, discarding the lighting effect in the process. It might look a bit less impressive, yet more accurate and neat in terms of the overall quality.

    @Aginor
    Actually, he is mounted on a 20mm base, but I agree that he might need a bigger base. Yet the rules dictate that skink have to be mounted on 20mm, so there's not much I can do about it.
    The staff looks goofy, I agree. But I couldn't find any decent replacement for that snake-ornament either :(

    Hi guys!
    It's been a few days since my last update, so I decided I could post here my soon to be Oldblood in his middle stages of sculpting:

    [IMG]

    Contrary to my saurus, I wanted him to look even bigger and bolder (matching his S/T 5 stats), so the base-miniature for him was the Savage Orc Boss. Yet with all the sculpting he's now even bigger, probably getting close to generic trolls.
    I was heavily inspired by the brilliant kroxigors sculpts by @woogity I saw somewhere here, yet I couldn't find the source-thread :( still, his work is very inspiring and was a great source of inspiration for me!

    As for the miniature itself, the main chunk of sculpting is done and you can get the idea where this is heading, I believe. Now come all the tricky parts, like his crest, "moustache", light armor, equipment and trophies. Also I'm not entirely happy with how some of the detailing turned out, so I'll make some small tweaks for this miniature to look as good as an ancient cold-blooded killing machine deserves.

    Oh, and just if you're wondering, why is he shaking his fist - he's not. There is a nice smoking pipe filled with jungle lotus. Although it's invisible at this moment :D

    Cheers!

    @Bracnos
    Many thanks for your help, edited the post! ;)
    Well he's far from done. I'm sculpting his head right now and it's turning to be a bit more complex than I expected.
    Also I'm not sure about the armor design. Lizardmen seem to wear plates of gold as their armor, yet I want something more intricate. I'm looking at the samurai armor as the inspiration source, but don't want to go too far from the original design... oh well, hopefully I will post the fully sculpted version in a few days!
